Ty Pennington & Kellee Merrell Playfully Tease Each Other
Pennington’s first text to Merrell read, “Done,” to which she responded, “I do really love you.” That’s when the HGTV star initiated the humor by poking fun at himself. “Well. You’re my everything Literally. So please 🙏🏼 Love me even when I chew loudly,” he wrote. Merrell then responded, “I do,” adding her agreement in another text, writing, “But I don’t want you to embarrass yourself so I remind you.”
“Happy love day friends! Love the one you’re with… even when they chew loudly 😂🫠❤️ #truelove,” Pennington captioned his Instagram post with a screenshot of their conversation.
Fellow HGTV stars weighed in on the hilarious banter, with Egypt Sherrod writing in the comments, “😂😂😂😂.” Shea Hicks-Whitfield added her opinion, saying, “Now that’s true love! 😁.” To which Pennington responded, “truly!!”
Fans in the comments couldn’t help but express their relatability to Pennington and Merrell’s playful conversation.
“You definitely found your perfect match 😍😂,” wrote one fan.
“Ya, why DO men chew so loudly??” another jokingly questioned.
Ty Pennington & Kellee Merrell Met in 2010
Just two weeks before the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” alum spotlighted the comical side of his love life at home, he shared a reflective Instagram post, expressing his gratitude for his wife as the world weathers its own little unpredictable storm.
“It’s been a heck of a month 💔… a year… [expletive], a decade! If you’re feeling stuck in a cycle of heartbreak and hopelessness, know that you’re not alone. And yet through it all, l’m immensely grateful to have someone to weather the storm ❤️ Hold your loved ones close. Sending love to everyone who needs it right now,” Pennington wrote alongside a photo of him and Merrell holding hands.
Although the couple met in 2010 while Pennington was filming a show in Canada, where Merrell is from, they didn’t get married until November 2021 after having reconnected in 2020, People reported. The couple said “I do” in front of eight loved ones at their home in Savannah, Georgia. Before their relationship became romantic, the pair kept in contact over the years and spent one year as fiancés before saying their vows.
