Season 41 of “The Challenge: Vets & New Threats” is seeing plenty of players go home, with Leroy Garrett and America Lopez the ones to get eliminated last week.
After Leroy and America came last in the daily challenge, they were pitted against Theo Campbell and his partner, Adrienne Naylor.
In the elimination, the two teams had to stand on a moving platform while solving a puzzle at the same time.
Ultimately, Leroy and America couldn’t figure out their tangram in time and went home in defeat.
The Next Daily Challenge is ‘Rune Race’
In the next challenge, host TJ Lavin announces that the teams will be tied together and have to run to a puzzle station.
They’ll be faced with an equation made up of runes, which they have to memorize as they race to the other side of the runway, and solve the puzzle using a key.
The answer will give them a code that will unlock their puzzle pieces that lie six feet below in a nearby lake.
The first team to retrieve their puzzle pieces and put them together at their station wins the daily challenge.
As Cedric Hodges and Michaela Bradshaw unlock their underwater puzzle pieces, they see that Nany Gonzalez and Justin Hinsley have already retrieved theirs.
Turbo Çamkıran and Sydney Segal are one of the biggest threats to the game, but they ended up getting their equation wrong, so they have to go back and redo it.
Still, Olivia Kaiser and Will Gagnon have yet to solve their first puzzle, so they’re in last place for now.
Nany and Justin arrive at their puzzle station first, but Michaela and Cedric are right behind them, and ultimately, the latter wins.
After a race between the last three teams, Ashley Mitchell and Leo Dionicio lose the daily challenge and are automatically sent into elimination.
Turbo & Sydney Vs. Leo & Ashley
After much deliberation, it’s a toss-up between Theo and Adrienne, and Turbo and Sydney to get voted into elimination. There’s a tie between the two teams, so TJ flips a coin, and it lands on Turbo and Sydney, so they’ll be going against Leo and Ashley.
The elimination is called “Weight Me Up,” which consists of a tall structure with runes painted on it, much like the daily challenge.
One team member will run across the arena and bring back 35 cannonballs, one at a time, and put them on a paddlewheel.
As each ball is placed on the wheel, the other partner, who is tethered to a harness, will be raised up the structure and collect puzzle pieces. Once the pieces are all gathered, the partner is released, and the team must solve the puzzle.
Turbo has a disadvantage because he’s sick after the daily challenge, and he refuses to give up, but he lags behind his opponents.
While Ashley descends, she guides Leo with the puzzle and attempts to solve it herself. Turbo finally gets the final ball, and Sydney makes her way down.
Despite his malaise, Turbo ends up solving the puzzle. “I will not use my muscles. I’m going to use my brain. And my brain, healthy and so strong,” he says.
“Of course, I hate to lose, but that comes with the game,” Ashley says before she leaves. “I’ll come back stronger and smarter next season,” she promises.
