MTV’s ‘The Challenge: Vets & New Threats’ Recap & Spoilers Episode 12

MTV‘s “The Challenge” 41 contestants are inching their way to the final, with a twist that allows them to “stake a claim” on someone other than their teammate.

Last week, Gabe Wai staked a claim on Nany Gonzalez, which meant he had to go against her partner, Justin Hinsley, in a one-on-one challenge.

The two raced uphill to complete a puzzle, and Justin was the first to win. Gabe and Jonna were automatically thrown into elimination, ultimately losing against Aviv Melmed and Yeremi Hykel.

So far, Aviv, Yeremi, Justin, Nany, Dee Valladares, Derrick Kosinski, Theo Campbell, Leroy Garrett, Olivia Kaiser, Adrienne Naylor, America Lopez, Aneesa Ferreira, Ashley Mitchell, Ben Davis, Cedric Hodges, Jake Cornish, Leo Dionicio, Michaela Bradshaw, Sydney Segal, Turbo Çamkıran, and Will Gagnan are left.

Read on to find out which team is the next to go home.

The Daily Challenge Tests Teammates

The newest daily challenge is inspired by the Paramount film, “The Running Man,” starring Glen Powell

Contestants have to retrieve a key from TJ Lavin, race to a container, get in the car, and drive to a workstation.

They will then use power tools to get to a tracking device and get to the finish line before it self-destructs.

The containers are wrapped in chains and rope, so the players struggle with getting them loose. Olivia and Will start bumping heads, and they start getting frustrated with each other. “Will, come on!” she yells.

Nany and Justin also struggle once they get to their car, as it’s a stick shift and neither of them knows how to work a manual.

Aviv and Yeremi are the first to find their tracking device and make it to the finish line. Michaela and Cedric get second place, while Olivia and Will place third.

After the rest of the contestants race to complete the daily, Derrick and Dee get last place, ensuring their place in the arena.

The Elimination Is a Pillow Fight on a Beam

Before nominations for the elimination, TJ asks if anyone wants to stake a claim. Theo was considering it because his name was thrown around, but Leroy hatched a plan to make it seem as if Aneesa and Jake were being nominated, so that the UK player felt safe.

Theo falls for the ruse and fails to stake a claim, and ultimately, he and Adrienne are voted into the arena.

The elimination is called “Bad Dreams,” and the teams have to face each other sitting on wooden beams.

They have to whack each other with weapons until one person falls into the water, but if a player drops their weapon first, he or she lose.

There are five rounds, so they have to stay in the game until they take out their opponent as many times as they can.

The “weapon” turns out to be a pillow, and in the first round, Derrick falls into the water quickly. Adrienne and Dee stay on longer, but the “Married at First Sight UK” star loses her balance and plummets.

Derrick keeps losing to Theo, but his partner Dee holds the team together. After a tie, a sudden death pits Theo and Derrick against each other – standing on the beam this time.

The “Road Rules” alum doesn’t stay on too long until he falls, and Derrick and Dee are the next “Challenge” 41 players to go home.
