Ariana Grande may be famous, but that doesn’t mean she can’t be starstruck. In fact, that’s what happened when the singer received a message from none other than the iconic Sarah Jessica Parker.
While chatting for an interview with Evan Ross Katz on the “Shut Up Evan” podcast on Friday, October 24, the host told Ariana, “I know you’re a huge fan of Sarah Jessica Parker. I was getting ready for today and I wanted to have some people call in and ask some questions. So I want to bring the icon Sarah Jessica Parker into the conversation.”
At that point, Evan played a voicemail from Sarah Jessica, and Ariana was in disbelief.
Sarah Jessica Had a Question for Ariana
Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images“Greetings Ariana,” the “Sex and the City” star said in the message. “It’s Sarah Jessica, and I have a question… She’s so extraordinarily gifted and has, at this point and for quite a while, achieved an authority and a kind of control of her career.”
“My A. question is when she was little… What did she imagine it would be when she said to a parent, a sibling, a co-worker, or even at a young age, ‘I want to be an actor,'” SJP continued. “What did she think, and what has she come to understand what it means, and how has that… how radically different is it?”
Ariana Had an Equally Thoughtful Response

Answering the question by saying that her career is “entirely different” than what she expected as a child, Ariana added, “I am sure she feels similarly. I was so focused on just art and singing and laughter and comedy and performing and acting and all I really ever want[ed]. I’m a nerd, I’m a theater kid, I’m a writer. I like to make people laugh, I like to disappear into character and that’s always been the thing that excites me most.”
“The fame element is peculiar and hard to navigate,” she continued. “Especially as a person who… I feel everything. And I think that’s my gift and sometimes my curse. But it’s really weird. I don’t think I was prepared for that part.”
Noting that she’s “proud” of what she’s done when it comes to staying grounded and not letting fame get to her, she also admitted that she’s still “figuring it out.”

I think both of them are awesome ladies, Ariana seems so sincere.I like her music and me and my grandchildren still watch Sam and Cat
