Beyoncé and Jay-Z are parents to a teenager: Blue Ivy Carter is 14! To celebrate her birthday on Wednesday, January 7, her proud grandma, Tina Knowles, penned a heartfelt post and shared stunning photos of the teen.
Tina Knowles Celebrates Blue Ivy
Knowles posted a sweet tribute to her granddaughter on Instagram, showing a bunch of photos, one for each year since Blue was born in 2012. She ended her post with the last photo taken from 2025, showing the teen wearing a stunning purple dress. In the caption, Knowles got emotional as she reminisced about her granddaughter’s birth and how much she has grown.
“I remember the day that we found out about you being in your mom‘s womb,” Knowles wrote. “We could not have been more excited! We were told that you were the size of a blueberry, and that is where your name came from!” She shared how they all prayed together “every single day till you were 12 weeks old in your moms belly! Then we prayed individually until you arrived months later.”
Knowles continued, “It was apparent that you were a fighter from the beginning, and you talked very early. And you were always smart as a whip we played Princess and Barbie dolls All the time and your imagination was incredible. To say that I’m a proud grandmother is an understatement! Even with all of your accomplishments and success, you remain a very sweet, kind humble human being.”
She ended her post with a sweet mention of all the roles that Blue takes on for her, writing, “To my manager, makeup artist, fashion adviser, my love. Happy Birthday.”
