Legendary Metal Band Robbed Just Days Before Highly Anticipated Tour

Heavy metal band Soulfly revealed some scary news ahead of their highly anticipated tour, with the first show set for March 19 in Richmond, Virginia.

In an Instagram post, the band explained that they were robbed while in New Mexico, having lost multiple items. And with that, they encouraged their fans to speak out if they see anything suspicious.

“Red alert! Someone broke into our U-Haul truck last night in Albuquerque as it was on the way to the Gwar tour. They took all of the Soulfly backdrops and one of our crew’s personal bags. Please if you see anyone or hear of anything suspicious reach out,” the post read


Fans Show Support For Soulfly Following Robbery

“We’ll be keeping an eye and a ear out. Me and my band are from Albuquerque and hate that this is legit our reputation as a city. So sorry Max and folks 🤘😢,” one person commented.

“I hope they are caught and brought to justice. Sending you love!,” another person wrote.

“That sucks. Definitely not the best way to start off a tour. Best wishes and I’ll be seeing y’all soon,” a fan shared.

Soulfly and Bassist Mike Leon Parted Ways Last Year

After 10 years together, Soulfly and Bassist Mike Leon parted ways in Apil 2025.

“After many strong years together, Soulfly is parting ways with bassist Mike Leon,” Soulfly said in a statement at the time (per Metal Injection). “The tribe are still performing at the upcoming Mexico City’s Nu Metal Revolution on May 3rd with the Sorcerer, Igor Amadeus, of Cavalera band, Go Ahead And Die and Healing Magic filling in. We’re going in different directions now and we thank Mike for all the time spent with us rocking hard on stage!”

Leon also released a statement of his own.

“After an incredible 10 year journey with Soulfly/Cavalera, the time has come to move on and pursue new opportunities,” he said. “I’m deeply grateful for the experiences, the music, and the relationships built along the way—it’s been an honor to grow alongside such dedicated fans. I’ve been proud to contribute to the music community through my work as Director of Artist Relations with ENKI Cases, supporting artists with industry leading gear protection, and will continue to do so.

“As I look ahead, I’m excited to focus on exploring and creating new musical opportunities! Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far—here’s to the next chapter!”
