Gojira to Mark 30th Anniversary by Performing at Inkcarceration Festival and Releasing A New Album
Gojira, who are well known in heavy metal circles for their energetic and high-octane live shows, have promised on Instagram that fans will get a memorable experience if they manage to see them at Inkcarceration Festival 2026 this summer.
The French group will perform on the second day of the festival and join the likes of Limp Bizkit, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Hollywood Undead, and Bad Omens.
According to the band’s official website, the current members of Gojira are unchanged since 2001 and include Joe Duplantier on vocals and guitar, Mario Duplantier on drums, Christian Andreu on guitar, and Jean-Michel Labadie on bass.
Gojira was formed in 1996, making 2026 an important year as it marks 30 years since the band was first created. It also acts as the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album “From Mars to Sirius,” which catapulted them to worldwide fame.
According to the social media post announcing the festival appearance, they are also looking to release their eighth studio album in 2026.
Outside of Inkcarceration Festival 2026, Gojira will also headline Rock Fest in Wisconsin the same weekend and tour alongside Metallica in Europe throughout May.
Gojira Appeared Alongside Other Metal Legends to Honor Ozzy Osbourne
As part of a bittersweet and poignant final performance from metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, Gojira performed alongside other bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Tool, and Guns N’ Roses.
During the gig, Ozzy appeared with his bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward on stage as they performed several songs from their back catalog at Villa Park in the United Kingdom. This marked their first proper reunion since 2005.
The final performance from Ozzy came shortly before his death. The 76-year-old passed away surrounded by family in his hometown of Birmingham following a long public battle with Parkinson’s disease.
