Two members of NSYNC are headed to war. “Cocktail Wars,” that is.
On Thursday, May 7, E! announced that Lance Bass and former “Dancing with the Stars” competitor Joey Fatone will serve as hosts for their new unscripted mixology competition series, “Cocktail Wars.” The show, consisting of 10 episodes, will debut this summer.
“We’re excited to be part of Cocktail Wars and team up again for something this fun,” the singers said in a joint statement. “With this much talent, a little competition, a lot of cocktails and just enough chaos to keep things interesting – that’s usually where we thrive.”
Val Boreland, President of Entertainment, VERSANT—the media group which owns E!— added: “We are beyond thrilled to welcome Lance and Joey to E! with Cocktail Wars. Blending competition, creativity and personality, this show will deliver must-watch moments where nostalgia, pop culture, and mixology are in sync.”
Everything to Know About ‘Cocktail Wars’
Along with the announcement about the hosts, E! also explained how the show will work in its press release.
“Cocktail Wars pits America’s buzziest mixologists against each other in a lively, high-stakes showdown for $10,000 per episode,” it explains. “Hosted by Joey Fatone and Lance Bass, who are joined by a series of celebrities and an expert judge, each episode features a fast, fiery battle of skill, creativity, humor, and flair.”
“From playful flavor combinations to eye-catching technique, the focus is on having a good time, taking risks, and serving up drinks with personality,” promises the network. “Each shake, stir, and splash could be the winning touch or the one that sends them home. It’s a cocktail competition where the vibes are high, the drinks are strong, and the bragging rights are everything.”
Inside Joey and Lance’s Friendship After NSYNC
GettyWhile some fans may be bummed that there’s not a full-fledged NSYNC reunion on the horizon, it’s clear they’re happy to see Lance and Joey together again.
“This sounds so fun!” exclaimed one fan on the Instagram post announcing the series. Added another: “😍😍😍 can’t wait to see you guys together.”
“Let the shenanigans commence!” read another comment, while someone else wrote, “Wow ! 👏👏👏 congrats Guys ! 🫶🫰.”
The new series comes as Bass and Fatone have been spending a lot of time together recently.
The two were both featured in the Investigation Discovery docuseries “Boy Band Confidential,” before reuniting in person at the show’s premiere (photo above).
In the doc, Bass and Fatone spoke about how Lance came out to him, with Joey being the first in NSYNC to learn he’s gay.
“We go out one night. We all go back to Lance’s house. I pass out in one of his guest bedrooms,” Fatone recalled, according to USA Today. “I wake up at, like, 3:00 in the morning. I’m like, ‘Ah, I got to leave.’ I go to his bedroom, open up the door. There’s nobody in there.”
He then went into Bass’ office and walked in on “a guy straddling” Lance.
“I was at my computer,” Bass continued, “and my boyfriend at the time − my very, very first boyfriend − was sitting on my lap.” He added, “I was like, ‘Surprise. He’s like, ‘Oh, please. I don’t care.’”
Joey then promised not to tell anyone else about Lance’s secret until he was ready. Bass eventually came out publicly in 2006 with a PEOPLE cover story.
The boy banders were also recently seen together at the Kentucky Derby, where they performed at the Barnstable Brown Kentucky Derby Gala alongside Backstreet Boys’ Howie Dorough and Luis Fonsi.
The duo even went on a vacation together to Sandals Royal Curacao in March 2026, sharing photos and videos from the getaway to social media.
