Justin Bieber Takes Fans on a Trip Down Memory Lane During Nostalgia-Fueled Coachella Set

17 years after releasing his debut EP “My World” in 2009, Justin Bieber made history with his record-breaking headliner set at the 2026 Coachella music festival last night (Apr. 11).

The Grammy winner, who hit the music scene at just 14 years old after his viral YouTube cover of Chris Brown’s “With You” attracted the attention of talent manager Scooter Braun, stepped onto the Coachella mainstage for his first major concert since his “Justice” world tour was cut short in 2022.

In the four years since his last Coachella appearance, Bieber, now 32, tied the knot with his now-wife, model and Rhode Beauty founder Hailey Bieber (formerly Baldwin), with the couple welcoming their first child – Jack Blues Bieber – in 2024.

Last summer, Justin continued his journey back to the top of the charts with his back-to-back “SWAG” and “SWAG II” album releases, debuting new hits like “Daises” and “Speed Demon” to widespread fanfare and critical acclaim.

While much of Bieber’s two-hour Coachella set was dedicated to highlighting the recent releases, the Canadian singer similarly shocked fans with a surprise medley of some of his most iconic tracks, from smash hits like “Baby” to pre-fame YouTube deep cuts in order to root out the true “Beliebers” in the crowd.

Justin Bieber rounded out the first weekend of Coachella 2026, stepping onto his own custom-built stage at 11:25pm PDT (2:25am ET).

Decked out in apparel from his all-new SKYLRK clothing brand, Bieber kicked off the concert with a string of tracks from his “SWAG” double albums, including (in performance order):

  • “ALL I CAN TAKE”
  • “SPEED DEMON”
  • “FIRST PLACE”
  • “BUTTERFLIES”
  • “WALKING AWAY”
  • “ALL THE WAY”
  • “405”
  • “TOO LONG”
  • “PETTING ZOO”
  • “I DO”

Compared to other Coachella headliners, Bieber’s set was extremely stripped down, with the singer spending the vast majority of the performance on stage by himself with only a microphone and a laptop for company.

That was, until Justin introduced his first special guest of the evening – The Kid LAROI – who joined him on stage to perform their 2021 smash hit “STAY.”

The throwback marked Bieber’s first non-”SWAG” performance of the evening, though it certainly wouldn’t be the last.

Before continuing his trip down memory lane, however, Justin book-ended the first half of his performance with another medley of “SWAG” era tracks, including “THINGS YOU DO,” “GLORY VOICE MEMO,” “ZUMA HOUSE,” “DOTTED LINE” and “EVERYTHING HALLELUJAH,” during which he gave shoutouts to both his wife, Hailey Bieber, and his one-year-old son Jack Blues.

‘Bieber Fever’ is Officially Back After Justin’s Nostalgia-Fueled Throwback

At the half-way mark, Bieber shifted gears, using his laptop to pull up a series of YouTube videos of his biggest hits from his early career, kicking things off with arguably his most memorable track, 2010’s “Baby.”

Singing along with the YouTube videos playing in the background and the massive Coachella crowd standing before him, Justin continued his nostalgia-fueled set by revisiting more classic hits from his early albums, including:

  • “Favorite Girl” (“My World”)
  • “That Should Be Me” (“My World 2.0”)
  • “Beauty and a Beat” (“Believe”)
  • “Never Say Never”
  • “Confident” (“Journals”)
  • “All That Matters” (“Journals”)

While the star’s YouTube deep dive might’ve seemed lackluster to some viewers and festival goers, especially when compared to high-energy headliners like Sabrina Carpenter, the set-up was staged as an elaborate callback to Bieber’s roots, a fact he showcased by playing his pre-fame covers of Chris Brown’s “With You” and Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.”

Justin rounded out his trip down memory lane with a few more sing-a-long performances to his 2016 chart-topper “Sorry,” his 2015 EDM collaboration “Where Are U Now” (featuring Skrillex and Diplo), and, finally, 2017’s “I’m the One.”

Bieber used the last track – a collaboration with Quavo, Chance the Rapper, Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled – as a call-back to his recent run-in with paparazzi, during which he asked photographers to stop “provoking” him and his family for headlines. At the time, the singer told the paps, “I’m not the one.”

Bieber Wraps Up Record-Breaking Coachella Set with More Surprise Guests

Following the throwback portion of his set, Justin returned to his “SWAG” era tracks to close out the first weekend of Coachella 2026.

He slowed things down with a performance of “YUKON,” the same track that he recently performed during the 2026 Grammy Awards to much fanfare, before closing out the set with a quartet of featured performers.

Bieber first welcomed Grammy winner Dijon to the stage to perform “DEVOTION” before subsequently inviting Nigerian singer Tems to join him in renditions of both “I THINK YOU’RE SPECIAL” and “ESSENCE.” The latter performance similarly included a special guest appearance from singer-songwriter WizKid.
