It’s a bittersweet day for fans of motivational metal band “Opal In Sky,” who just announced that two of their members, guitarist Jeff Wang and drummer Scott Miller, are stepping away from the group. And yeah, it hit fans right in the feels.
Formed by twin brothers Dylon and Tyson Opalinsky (yes, those Polish roots are strong), along with Andrew M (Baena), Jeff, and Scott, “Opal In Sky” has built a dedicated fanbase with their signature blend of hard-hitting riffs and inspiring energy. They’re one of those rare bands that manage to make you headbang and feel something at the same time.
The Original Announcement
The update came straight from Instagram, where the band explained that both musicians were leaving due to family and career commitments that make constant touring nearly impossible.
“They won’t be able to tour at the level the rest of the band is aiming for. They both have young families and full-time careers that make long stretches on the road tough,” the band shared. “We’re incredibly grateful that Jeff and Scott were with us to help launch this band into the world.”
Jeff and Scott Say Goodbye in Style
In that same post, both Jeff and Scott shared heartfelt messages. And let’s be real, they couldn’t have handled this farewell with more grace. Jeff wrote, “The time we have spent together growing this band has been nothing short of incredible… I’ll always be cheering my brothers on as they continue to crush it. Thanks for all the love and support, it means the world.”
Scott echoed the same love and gratitude, saying, “As much as Opal and I share a deep love for playing music together, our schedules just don’t line up the way they used to. Being part of this project reignited my passion for drumming and reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place. To the fans and friends I’ve met along the way: from the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support and for sharing this experience with me.”
Opal In Sky Says Farewell
In another video captioned “Farewell But Not Goodbye,” Tyson praised both musicians, calling Jeff “the classiest guitarist I’ve ever had the pleasure of sharing a stage with” and Scott “the hardest hitting, yet most precise drummer I’ve ever seen.” He ended on an emotional note, saying, “Jeff and Scott will forever be legacy members of Opal In Sky… We love you. The fans love you. From the bottom of our hearts, really. Thank you.”
Fans (and Family) Show the Love
The comments section quickly turned into one massive love letter. Fans were emotional but supportive. One person said , “Aw I will miss them both,” while another proclaimed, “Jeff and Scott, absolute legends. Thank you guys for everything. Best of luck to you guys.”
A few people panicked, thinking the worst. One comment read, “THIS MADE ME THINK THEY DIED WTFF 😭,” while another said, “Are they breaking up?”
Others chimed in with heartfelt words like, “Kings, the both of them 🫶🏻,” and “I wish them well on wherever life takes them. THANK YOU JEFF AND SCOTT!!! 💕🙏”
“Awww!” said a longtime fan (who wished to remain anonymous), speaking directly to EntertainmentNow. “It is sad to hear that they are leaving, but good to know they are moving on to focus on important things… like family.”
Even Dylon and Tyson’s mom, Kim, got in on the moment, writing, “Jeff and Scott thank you for being there for Opal in Sky. We really enjoyed watching you on stage with our boys. They are definitely going to miss you as will all the fans! Good luck with your future endeavours!”
It seems like while this chapter might be closing, the story of “Opal In Sky” is far from over. Jeff and Scott may be moving on, but their impact clearly isn’t going anywhere; and judging by the outpouring of love, fans are here for whatever comes next.
