Sharon Osbourne Marks First Birthday Without Beloved Ozzy With Her Children by Her Side

The ache of losing someone you love always feels deeper on special days. For Sharon Osbourne, her 73rd birthday carried both love and sadness, as it was her first without her husband, Ozzy Osbourne. Sharon celebrated her 73rd birthday surrounded by love from her children, Kelly and Jack Osbourne.

The milestone marked her first birthday since the passing of her husband of 43 years, rock legend Ozzy.

On October 9, Kelly shared a touching video on Instagram showing the heartfelt surprise she planned for her mom. “Shhhhhhh,” Kelly whispered in the clip. “So it’s my mom’s birthday today. And I just decorated her room… and she’s still sleeping.”

The camera revealed a sea of pastel balloons and birthday presents scattered across Sharon’s bedroom at the family’s Buckinghamshire home. As the decorations sparkled in the morning light, Sharon lay peacefully in bed with her dog and a giant stuffed panda.

Shortly after Kelly’s video, Jack posted his own tribute to their mom. In a touching slow-motion clip, Sharon is seen catching a white owl during a falconry experience — one of her new hobbies since Ozzy’s passing.

“Happy birthday mum,” Jack captioned the video, which drew emotional reactions from fans who praised the family’s love and strength.

Remembering Ozzy Osbourne’s Birthday Surprises

In happier years, Ozzy always found ways to make Sharon’s birthdays unforgettable. During a 2016 episode of “The Talk”, he surprised her live on air with flowers and a jewelry box as “Crazy Train” played for the audience. “Happy birthday, darling,” he said softly to a visibly emotional Sharon, drawing cheers and applause.

This year, the celebration carried a much deeper meaning. Ozzy passed away on July 22 at age 76, just weeks after performing his final Black Sabbath concert, “Back to the Beginning.”

In the recent documentary “Ozzy: No Escape From Now”, the couple reflected tenderly on what they thought would be their next chapter together. “I’m looking forward to getting this gig over, hanging my mic up, and spending some time with you,” Ozzy told Sharon. “After this gig, we’re free.”

“I just want to live a life. That’s all I want to do,” Sharon responded.

‘She’s OK, But She’s Not OK’: Says Jack

Outside of her quiet birthday celebration, Sharon has kept a low profile since Ozzy’s funeral in July. But her children continue to share glimpses of her healing.

During a recent appearance on “Good Morning America”, Jack offered a candid update on how his mom is holding up.

“You know, when people have been asking me that question, I say, ‘She’s OK, but she’s not OK,’” he said gently. “I know she feels the love.”

Surrounded by her family’s warmth, Sharon’s 73rd birthday became more than just a milestone — it was a touching reminder that love remains, even in the quiet after loss.
