Guitarist Perry Bamonte, beloved for his work with the rock band The Cure, passed away in December 2025. He was 65. At the time of his death, it was revealed on the band’s official website that he had suffered from a “short illness” during Christmas, shortly before his death. Now, three months later, his will has been made public, including the amount his wife will inherit from his estate.
Guitarist Perry Bamonte’s Estate Revealed
GettyBamonte was married to Donna Bamonte, whom he wed in 2009. His estate, totalling £ 1.9 million before deductions, was left to her, The Sun reports. The couple had no children and lived in Crediton, in the United Kingdom. The publication also reports that they cared for retired racehorses.
Bamonte joined The Cure in 1990 and played with them until 2005. He would later rejoin the band in 2022. The musician’s final show was at London‘s Troxy in November 2024, The Sun reports. He was also scheduled to perform with the band for their UK and European tour in 2026.
Perry Bamonte’s Passing & Tributes
Bamonte’s death was announced on The Cure’s official website on December 26, 2025. “It is with enormous sadness that we confirm the death of our great friend and bandmate Perry Bamonte, who passed away after a short illness at home over Christmas,” the statement reads. It referred to the musician as “quiet, intense, intuitive, constant, and hugely creative.” They also credited Bamonte with being “warm-hearted and a vital part of The Cure story.” The statement includes his time with the band and relevant dates, and concludes with condolences to Bamonte’s family and a note that he will be “very greatly missed.”
At the time of Bamonte’s passing, fans and colleagues flooded social media with touching tributes. This included one from a founding member of The Cure, Lol Tolhurst. In a tribute on X, he wrote, “So sad to hear about the passing of Perry Bamonte from The Cure. Perry joined us all as my keyboard tech initially, then after working as guitar tech, went on to play in the band. A quiet unassuming man he will be missed by many. Cindy and I send our love to his family.”
In a December 19, 2025 post on The Cure’s Instagram announcing their sold-out upcoming shows, fans shared loving tributes. “Rest in peace, Perry,” a comment reads. “My condolences about the death of Perry Bamonte, rest in peace,” another fan wrote.
