The gesture was widely praised as one of the night’s most touching tributes to the late rock legend, whose influence continues to resonate across generations of musicians and fans alike.
The Two Shared The Special Moment
When his name was announced as the winner, Yungblud made a spontaneous and respectful decision — turning to the crowd and inviting Sharon Osbourne, widow of Ozzy Osbourne, to join him onstage.
As Sharon, 73, walked up to stand beside him, the audience offered a warm and appreciative ovation, underscoring the moment’s significance.
Getty“This moment isn’t just mine,” Yungblud said during his acceptance, his voice filled with emotion.
“To grow up loving an idol , who helps you figure out your identity, not only as a musician, but also a man, is something I really grateful for,” he said during his acceptance speech.
He added, “But to then get to know them and honour them at their final show and receive this [his award] is something I am struggling to comprehend, we [explicative] love you Ozzy.”
He continued by adding that the last time he saw Ozzy. He said the legend asked him if there was anything he could do for him, to which Yungblud responded that the “music was enough.”
It’s Yungblud’s First Grammy
Yungblud, 28, won the Grammy for his live cover of “Changes”, recorded at Back to the Beginning, Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert in Villa Park, England last summer.
The performance stood out not only for its musical intensity, but also for its emotional weight: the song became a tribute to a mentor and icon, capturing the spirit of Ozzy’s career and the power of rock music to unite audiences.
The collaboration and mutual respect between Yungblud and the Osbournes run deep.
Over the past few years, Yungblud has spoken openly about the influence Ozzy had on his own musical journey, crediting the rock icon with inspiring his passion for the genre and encouraging his fearless creativity.
In 2025, Sharon publicly praised his work and shared how she believed Ozzy would be “smiling down” on him, foreshadowing the moment fans witnessed at the Grammys.
“Changes” itself has a powerful history: originally recorded by Black Sabbath in the early 1970s, the song reflects introspection, growth and emotional depth.
Yungblud’s version — featuring collaborators Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello and Adam Wakeman II — captured those themes in a live setting that resonated with audiences worldwide, later earning him the Grammy.
For Sharon Osbourne, the night was a positive celebration of her late husband’s enduring impact on music.
Her presence onstage highlighted how Ozzy’s legacy lives on through those he inspired — from classic rock icons to today’s new generation of performers.
