Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend Responds to Wedding Rumors With Romantic Photo

Alexandra Grant set the record straight about her relationship with Keanu Reeves. The 52-year-old artist took to Instagram on September 24 to shut down wedding rumors, sharing a candid photo of herself kissing the 61-year-old actor at Roden Crater in Flagstaff, Arizona.

“This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss!” she wrote in her caption. “We’re at Roden Crater, and Keanu and Gard had just finished interviewing James Turrell for Visionaries.”

Grant called the headlines “fake news” and confirmed she and Reeves never tied the knot. “I’m sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn’t get married,” she added. “Good news is much needed these days, but it’s still fake news, so be careful out there! So, here’s a bit of real happiness!”

A representative for Reeves also addressed the speculation on Sept. 23. “It is not true,” the rep told People. “They are not married.” The couple first went public in November 2019 when they walked the red carpet together at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.

Nearly a decade earlier, they had collaborated on the 2011 book “Ode to Happiness.

At the time of their debut, a source told People, “Keanu wants to openly share his life with her. He is extremely happy and grateful to have Alex in his life.”

The marriage rumors surfaced just as Reeves began his Broadway debut in “Waiting for Godot.” Grant celebrated the milestone with another heartfelt Instagram post, praising his portrayal of Estragon.

“To Keanu — who is not on social media, and with whom I’ll share this later — your hard work and dedication to trying something new and brave is so inspiring, artist to artist,” she wrote.

“Your Estragon is unlike any I’ve seen before … funny, lonely, pensive, philosophical.”

She also applauded director Jamie Lloyd and the cast, calling the production “exciting, wildly imaginative, surprising.”

A Private Yet Loving Partnership

Reeves and Grant first met in 2009 at a dinner party and went on to collaborate on the books “Ode to Happiness” and “Shadows.” In 2017, they co-founded X Artists’ Books, with their friendship eventually blossoming into romance.

Though protective of their privacy, the pair have shared glimpses of their love over the years. At the 2023 MOCA Gala in Los Angeles, they kissed on the red carpet, and Reeves later told People that his happiest recent moment was with Grant: “A couple of days ago with my honey. We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”

From blockbuster hits like “The Matrix,” “John Wick,” and “Speed” to his latest chapter on Broadway, Reeves continues to thrive as an actor. Yet some of his most meaningful moments are found offscreen, in the life and love he shares with Grant.
