Olympic Champion Alysa Liu Sparks Dating Buzz With Indie Rocker

Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu has fans buzzing after several social media interactions sparked speculation about a possible new relationship.

The 20-year-old figure skater, who made history at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan, has been linked by fans to indie rocker Glaive, whose real name is Ash Blue Gutierrez. Online speculation began after social media users noticed what they believe are clues suggesting the pair may be spending time together.

The fan chatter comes shortly after Liu’s successful Olympic run and her decision to wrap up her competitive season early following the Games.


Alysa Liu and Glaive Spark Dating Buzz With Social Media Clues

Fans first began speculating about a possible connection between Liu and Glaive after noticing a series of posts and interactions on social media.

A Reddit thread highlighted several moments that fans believe point to a possible relationship. One of the most discussed clues involves a photo that appears to show Liu and Glaive sitting together at a restaurant called Trabocco.

In the image, the pair are smiling as they sit at a table while a server stands nearby. A dessert appears to be placed in front of them with the word “Congratulations” written in chocolate alongside a heart.

Fans also pointed to interactions between the two in Instagram comments.

On a February 1 post shared by Glaive, Liu left a comment that read, “A proper post for the upmost proper tour!”

The singer responded jokingly, writing, “I’m the most British girl in Oakland.”

In another exchange, Glaive commented on a January 31 post from Liu in which she posed in front of a mirror while tousling her hair.

“There is something about this photo… something special…” he wrote.

Liu responded with a lighthearted reply, writing, “Must’ve been the wind.”

She added in another comment, “Obviously the samsung.”

Fans also noticed that Liu shared a post on Instagram that appeared to show Glaive running through a field.


Liu Celebrated Gold Medals in Milan

The speculation surrounding Liu’s personal life comes shortly after a major milestone in her athletic career.

Liu became the first American woman to win the Olympic gold medal in the women’s singles figure skating event at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan on February 19. She also earned a gold medal with Team USA in the team event.

During the celebrations following her victory, Liu revealed that a small mishap occurred with one of her medals.

“I was just jumping up and down, as one does to celebrate and it just dropped,” Liu explained, via NBC. “It just literally fell off of the ribbon. It got very scratched up pretty dented.”

She said she returned the medal and received a replacement.

“I actually liked it when it was off the ribbon, but that’s not allowed,” Liu said. “I had to give it in. I was like: ‘Can’t you just fix this one? I’m attached.’”

“But it’s ok, I’m detached. Just like it was.”


Alysa Liu Announces Early End to Her 2026 Season

Shortly after returning from Milan, Liu also shared an update about her competitive schedule.

The Olympic champion had originally planned to compete at the International Skating Union Figure Skating World Championships, scheduled for March 24–29 in Prague, Czech Republic.

However, Liu revealed on Instagram Stories that she decided to withdraw from the event.

“As some of y’all already know, I withdrew from Worlds,” Liu wrote. “There’s been a lot of exciting things happening since my return from Milan, so I’m taking some time for that.”

She added that she will continue supporting other athletes during the event.

“I will be cheering everyone on from afar — see y’all next season!!”

Liu previously stepped away from figure skating as a teenager before returning to competition ahead of the 2026 Olympics. She had competed at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, where she finished sixth.
