Since season 4 of “Celebrity Jeopardy” premiered on March 13, 2026, fans have been dealing with one scheduling shakeup after another. At this point, it honestly feels like keeping track of the air dates has become part of the competition itself.
The tournament series started off strong, bringing together celebrity contestants competing for charity while also introducing the fun All-Stars twist with returning winners joining the mix later in the season. The games themselves have still been entertaining, but let’s be real, the airing schedule has absolutely tested viewers’ patience.
April was especially chaotic.
The April 3 episode was delayed because of Easter programming, while April 10 got bumped for the “Artemis II: Coming Home – ABC News Special.” Then on April 24, NFL Draft coverage pushed the show aside once again. That meant fans only got one actual new episode during the entire month of April. Yep, one.
Thankfully, it seems like May is finally bringing some much-needed stability back to the franchise.
The Remaining ‘Celebrity Jeopardy’ Schedule for May 2026
An Instagram post shared earlier today, officially revealed the remainder of the season’s schedule, and fans are about to get a whole lot more “Jeopardy” this month.
The tournament, hosted by Ken Jennings, officially resumes Friday, May 1 at 8:00pm ET with Quarterfinal #5 featuring Robin Thede, Patton Oswalt, and Margaret Cho competing for a semifinal spot.
Then on Friday, May 8 at 8:00pm ET Quarterfinal #6 airs with Ray Romano, Mira Sorvino, and Mo Rocca facing off in the final quarterfinal matchup of the season.
After that, things speed up very quickly.
Instead of sticking to the once-a-week Friday release format, ABC will air the semifinals and finale episodes (still at 8:00pm ET) across four consecutive nights:
- May 12: Semifinal #1
- May 13: Semifinal #2
- May 14: Semifinal #3
- May 15: Finale
That’s a pretty massive shift after the stop-and-start pacing viewers dealt with throughout April. It seems like ABC wants the tournament to finally build momentum again heading into the finale, and honestly, the packed release schedule should help.
The semifinal rounds also raise the stakes considerably because the winners from the current quarterfinal games will go up against previous season champions Ike Barinholtz, Lisa Ann Walter, and W. Kamau Bell.
That lineup alone already feels stacked.
All three returning winners proved during their original runs that they could handle the pressure, buzzer timing, and fast-paced trivia format. Bringing them back for a showdown gives the season a much bigger feel overall.
Whoever ultimately wins the finale will take home $1 million for their charity, along with the “Celebrity Jeopardy” trophy and the bragging rights that come with winning a season full of returning fan favorites and strong competitors.
Not too bad for answering trivia questions on television.
‘Pop Culture Jeopardy’ Finally Gets a Release Date
“Celebrity Jeopardy” wasn’t the only franchise update revealed in that same Instagram post either.
Fans of “Pop Culture Jeopardy” finally got the news they’ve been waiting for as season 2 officially received a release date. The spin-off series returns Monday, May 11, 2026, with Colin Jost back as the host. This time around, though, the series is moving to Netflix.
Honestly, that move makes a lot of sense. “Pop Culture Jeopardy” already has a much different vibe compared to the traditional version of the franchise. The show leans heavily into entertainment, fandom culture, celebrity moments, and modern media references, so the streaming jump feels pretty natural.
And let’s be real, Netflix viewers love competition shows they can binge.
After such a messy spring schedule for “Celebrity Jeopardy,” it seems like fans are mostly just excited to finally have some concrete dates to look forward to again. Between the current tournament wrapping up and “Pop Culture Jeopardy” making its return, May is shaping up to be a very busy month for the entire “Jeopardy” world.
