Two cast members from the beloved 1980s film “The Goonies” have reunited in a touching moment more than 40 years after the movie first hit cinema screens. Ke Huy Quan and Jeff Cohen, who portrayed Data and Chunk respectively, were seen hanging out and snapping photographs together at a ceremony to celebrate Michelle Yeoh’s entry into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Quan starred alongside Yeoh in the film in 2022, with both performers going on to win Academy Awards for their roles. Cohen also played a role in the film, with the now-lawyer helping Quan land the role and negotiate his contract.
At the ceremony, the two were snapped talking and laughing together, as well as posing for selfies.
This isn’t the first time that the pair have been seen together in recent times. Last year, the two were joined by Corey Feldman, Kerri Green and Josh Brolin, and writer/director Chris Columbus when Quan was honored at a ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater.

Getty“The Goonies” launched the careers of several young actors, including Sean Astin. Directed by Richard Donner, the script was the work of Chris Columbus and was based on a story developed by Steven Spielberg. The plot follows a group of kids who go on an adventure after discovering an old treasure map that leads them to the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, ultimately facing off against a criminal gang that also wants the treasure.
Several members of the cast have expressed interest in reprising their roles for a potential sequel.
Speaking with TooFab in 2025, Quan said, “I love that movie so much. It’s one of the greatest adventures of my life. I would be so happy to revisit that character and, of course, go on another Goonies adventure with my fellow Goonies, that would be amazing!”
Meanwhile, Brolin opened up about his thoughts on a sequel last year when asked if he would be interested in returning to the franchise.
“Of course you hope it [happens] — I hope it does, because the experience was so great [and] the movie is received so well generation after generation.”
However, the actor also made it clear that he wouldn’t want to ruin the original film by doing it a disservice with any sequel. “I don’t want to taint my memory of it,” he revealed.
