Katey Sagal’s son, Jackson White, praised his famous mother — who you’ll surely know from “Married… With Children” and “Sons of Anarchy” — for getting herself together.
Beyond that, he noted that she acted as a great example, which helped him when he faced his own struggles.

GettyDuring the Wednesday, February 18 episode of “Call Her Daddy,” White, who starred as Stephen DeMarco in “Tell Me Lies,” opened up about his divorced parents, drinking with his father when he was younger and letting resentment affect his relationships. He also admitted that he realized his behavior was a problem.
He then talked about Sagal, saying, “My mom got her [expletive] together. She did, she got her [expletive] together a long time ago. And I got to see that you can get your [expletive] together. So I had a really great example in my mom. And I want a lot of things. Like, I just want a lot of things in this life.”
He also talked about the things he wants out of his personal and professional life, saying, “If you’re being stopped from getting those things, and you’re seeing signs that you’re not getting those things — if you’re missing your audition, if you’re [expletive] on the phone, if you’re reacting poorly. You just gotta focus on it. You gotta have that self-knowledge, though.”
“The consequences are what start pushing that into action,” he said. “And if you don’t have consequences, sometimes you can go on and on and on.”
Jackson White Also Talked About Working With Katey Sagal
Sagal is not only White’s mother in real life, but she also played his mom on “Tell Me Lies.” While that might seem like a dream scenario for the family members, it turns out that White wasn’t exactly thrilled at first.
“There’s a little kid thing where you’re like, no, it’s mine. Right?” he said during his “Call Her Daddy” interview. “But then I thought, ‘Oh yeah, it’s fine. No, it’s great.’ I thought it was really full circle, and I thought [Meaghan Oppenheimer] was … kidding when she said they want to ask [Sagal].”
“I was like, ‘Oh, that’d be hilarious,’” he added. “And then they did and … it worked out.”
GettyAlong with appearing on “Tell Me Lies” with his mom, White had a chance to work with his girlfriend, Grace Van Patten, playing her love interest on screen.
When it came to working with his mom and girlfriend, White explained, “You want to not let it blend, but I think it does. You do make believe for your job, you’re probably a little [expletive] up. And so you take on a little bit of everything and it was hard. It was hard not to let the lines blur.”
