Kelly Stafford is the podcast host, NFL wife, and mom of four, best known for her marriage to Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and her candid show, “The Morning After.”
As Matthew prepares for the NFC Championship Game against the Seattle Seahawks, Kelly is once again cheering him on from the sidelines — and sometimes from a private jet with fellow WAGs. Here’s what you need to do.
1. Kelly Stafford Met Matthew Stafford at the University of Georgia
Kelly and Matthew’s love story started in college at the University of Georgia, where Matthew became the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback as a freshman. Kelly studied nursing and later became a registered nurse, sharing in 2014 that she passed her licensing exam.
The two stayed together after graduation and married in April 2015. Kelly later reflected on their wedding day while revisiting old footage on her podcast.
“All I see when I watch this is the man I love and how lucky I am to have a partner who is not only an incredible husband but also a patient, loving father,” she shared.
2. Kelly and Matthew Share Four Daughters
Kelly and Matthew are parents to four girls: twins Sawyer and Chandler, born in 2017, followed by Hunter in 2018 and Tyler in 2020.
The family regularly appears at Rams games, and Kelly often posts moments from their busy life at home. Matthew has said his wife and kids keep him grounded.
Kelly has also called Matthew her “rock,” writing on Instagram, “Having someone you can always depend on is one of the most underrated things in this life.”
3. Matthew Stafford’s Wife Opened Up About Her Brain Tumor Diagnosis
In April 2019, Kelly revealed on Instagram that she had been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor called an acoustic neuroma. She shared that everyday tasks had suddenly become difficult and that she experienced frequent vertigo.
Later that month, she underwent a 12-hour surgery to remove the tumor, longer than expected, after doctors discovered an abnormal vein.
Kelly documented her recovery online and has since spoken openly about health, resilience, and motherhood.
4. Kelly Stafford Hosts ‘The Morning After’ Podcast
Kelly debuted her podcast, “The Morning After,” in September 2021, using the platform to talk about marriage, parenting, mental health, and life in the NFL spotlight. Reporter Hank Winchester later joined as co-host.
In October 2025, Kelly announced she was stepping back from the podcast to focus on her mental health.
“I started this podcast to kind of build this community,” she told The New York Post. “A community that accepts failure and supports each other through it instead of judging.”
She added, “I just think I need to take a step back and kind of figure out what the plan is. I’m not saying this is over. I really need a second.”
5. Football Runs in Matthew Stafford’s Wife’s Family Too
Matthew isn’t the only football connection in Kelly’s life. Her brother, Chad Hall, is an assistant quarterbacks coach for the New York Giants and previously coached with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. Chad also played wide receiver in the NFL from 2011 to 2013.
Now, as Matthew and the Rams chase a Super Bowl berth, Kelly continues balancing family life, recovery, and her own career — all while supporting her quarterback from the stands.
