Beloved holiday movie actor Mike Heslin died unexpectedly at just 30, leaving fans and loved ones devastated. Now, more than a year later, heartbreaking new details surrounding his passing have come to light. Heslin’s husband, Scotty Dynamo, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Javier’s Las Vegas, located inside the ARIA Resort and Casino.
The actor, who starred in the Zoe Saldaña series “Lioness,” Lifetime’s “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” and Prime Video’s “The Influencers,” collapsed while dining with friends in June 2024.
As per a report in US Weekly, Dynamo, whose real name is Nicolas James Wilson, filed the complaint on September 18. He is suing on five counts, including wrongful death, loss of consortium, negligence, gross negligence, and negligent hiring and supervision.
Allegations of Delayed CPR & Emergency Response
According to the lawsuit, Heslin collapsed at the restaurant while dining with two friends. His companions reportedly called for help and cleared space for him on the floor. The filing alleges that several ARIA and Javier’s employees approached but “stood by” without taking immediate lifesaving action.
The suit further claims staff failed to perform CPR promptly and did not use emergency equipment such as an automated external defibrillator (AED). Court documents allege that when a woman attempted CPR, an employee “forcefully removed” her, interrupting compressions and delaying help.
US Weekly reported that Dynamo is seeking $15,000 in damages.
Scotty Dynamo Remembers His Husband
Dynamo confirmed Heslin’s passing in a July Instagram tribute, writing: “On July 2nd, my husband, best friend, and soulmate @mikeheslin passed away from an unexpected cardiac event after a weeklong battle in the hospital. Michael was young, in perfect health, and the doctors have no explanation for what happened.”
He added, “Michael was brilliant, selfless, talented, and a real-life guardian angel. He single-handedly carried me through multiple rounds of cancer. He truly was the sweetest, most caring, and loving man on earth, and he brought out the absolute best in everyone who had the pleasure to cross paths with him.”
Actor’s Legacy in TV & Film
Heslin, who died at 30, had already made his mark across streaming and television. He appeared in Paramount+’s “Lioness” with Zoe Saldaña, starred in Lifetime’s holiday film “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” and took on a role in Prime Video’s “The Influencers.”
