Nancy Guthrie Disappearance: Neighbors ‘Terrified’ After FBI Mixup

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, one neighbor detailed an FBI blunder that left her family “terrified.”

According to a woman named Aldine, the FBI was scanning Guthrie’s Tucson, Arizona, neighborhood in the days following her disappearance. However, upon investigation, one neighbor was told the “FBI agents” were actually impostors.

The FBI Scanned Nancy Guthrie’s Neighborhood

Aldine, who went to high school with Nancy Guthrie’s son Camron Guthrie, sat down with News Nation’s Brian Entin for an interview on Monday, March 9.

During their chat, the woman explained that her sister, who lives in the same neighborhood, reported that two FBI agents, a male and a female, wearing black hoodies, “were tapping on her windows and frantically ringing her doorbell.”

According to Aldine, the incident occurred “on the second Friday night after Nancy went missing” around 7:30 p.m.

“They wanted to know if she had a pacemaker, and they wanted to look into her garage,” Aldine recalled of her sister’s situation. “She was alone. And was like, ‘Sure, of course. You’re the FBI.'”

After informing her daughter that the male agent “kind of creeped her out,” concern grew that the two individuals may have been posing as FBI agents.

“She called 911, and within 15 minutes, 10 minutes, there were seven police cars. Four FBI agents said it wasn’t the FBI. She was terrified,” Aldine continued. “They swabbed her, fingerprinted the entire house. So they swabbed her mouth. They swabbed her mouth for DNA.”

The following day, however, Aldine’s sister received a phone call from the FBI saying, “Oh yeah, by the way, that woman was an FBI agent. We don’t really know who the guy was, but she was, so you’re fine.”

Aldine’s report seems to corroborate an earlier report that the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI were having trouble working together on the case.

“Our strong partnership is critical, and we remain fully committed to this collaborative investigation,” PCSD said in a statement following reports that they were blocking key evidence, per News Nation.

Nancy Guthrie Remains Missing

The 84-year-old mother of “Today” host Savannah Guthrie has been missing since February 1. She was last seen the prior evening during a family dinner hosted by her daughter Annie Guthrie.

The Guthrie family has continued to plead with the public for help, and is offering a reward of $1 million for information that leads to their mother’s recovery.
