Savannah Guthrie’s ‘TODAY’ Return Could Help Find Nancy Guthrie, Says Former FBI Agent

Savannah Guthrie is set to return to the “TODAY” show next month, a move that could significantly aid the Nancy Guthrie search, according to a former FBI agent.

On Friday, Hoda Kotb announced that Savannah will return to the show on April 6, after a two-month absence.

Former FBI agent Jason Pack believes Savannah’s consistent TV presence when she returns to the “TODAY” show could play a key role in the investigation moving forward.

“Savannah has a platform most families do not have, and she is using it,” Pack told Page Six. “Every morning that she sits behind that desk, her mother’s face will stay in front of millions of people. That matters.”

Nancy Guthrie Search: Savannah Guthrie’s Return Gives Her ‘Control’

Pack also noted that Savannah Guthrie’s return to the “TODAY” show highlights her strength amid the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie.

“That is fighting back the only way she can right now and gives her control over how she and her family choose to navigate the worst thing that has ever happened to them,” Pack added.

The former FBI agent continued, “I think the bottom line is this: You might be able to kidnap someone’s mamma, but you sure as heck can’t kidnap their backbone. The strength you see in people during these cases never stops surprising you.”

Savannah Guthrie Breaks Down Over Possibility Her Mom Was Targeted Because of Her

In her first interview since Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance, Savannah Guthrie acknowledged the possibility that her fame may have played a role in her mother’s kidnapping.

Savannah recalled how her brother, Camron Guthrie, knew right away that Nancy could’ve been “kidnapped for ransom.”

“Like, how dumb could I be? I didn’t want to believe it, but do you think because of me?’ And he said, ‘I’m sorry, sweetie, but yeah, maybe.'” Savannah shared.

She continued, “But I knew that — I hope not, we still don’t know. We don’t know anything, so I don’t know that it’s because she’s my mom and somebody thought, ‘Oh, that lady has money, we can make a quick buck,’ that would make sense, but we don’t know.”

Savannah admitted that the thought of it being her fault was “too much to bear.”

“That it’s because of me, and I just want to say, I’m so sorry, mommy,” she said.
