There’s no denying that Jennifer Garner is an incredible actress, but even at her level of fame she makes sure not to pin her happiness upon a potentially fluctuating career. Sitting down to chat with ForbesWomen editor Maggie McGrath for a video interview which has since been reposted to Instagram, the stunning Hallmark star talked about the harsh nature of the film and TV industry, and how she knows it isn’t a place that always wants her back as much as she wants to be working within it.

In the interview, Jennifer sat down in a super classy purple dress and broke down her relationship with her work life for her fans. She began: “I really love my job. I really love being on set. I love being part of the team.
“I love being a cog in the wheel of the world that is a television or movie set, and it makes me so happy. Like, I get to work, but I have always felt like, this is amazing and what’s next? I will be okay.”
She continued to explain: “I don’t want to pin my happiness on the continuation of a career that doesn’t always want you back. You know what I mean?
“So I’ve been so lucky that this is still happening. But I’ve always had an eye for what else do I want to learn? I assume I can still write a paper. I have no idea. I hope so.”
Maggie then asked Jennifer if anything was on her “career bucket list” and a certain something came to the actresses’ mind. She shared: “I want to dive more deeply, whenever I have free time, I instantly look at where I can go for Save [the Children], and I want to see our work across the world. We’re number two to UNICEF for kids all over the world. We go where no one else wants to go. I’m interested, I’m curious, and I want to see how that work relates to what I know so well here in America.”
