‘Today’ Hosts Share Message of ‘Hope’ Amid Nancy Guthrie Disappearance

“Today” hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones shared an emotional message of “hope” as the search for Nancy Guthrie continues.

The cohosts opened the Wednesday, February 11, episode of their morning show with an update on their cohost, Savannah Guthrie, and her family’s tragedy.

Hager opened up about the latest updates in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance, saying, “The last 10 days have been constantly, even if you see it or you don’t, thinking about our friend Savannah, whom we love dearly and miss desperately, and her family as they search for her mother, Nancy.”

The cohosts went on to explain that FBI released images and videos of a “masked, armed individual” obtained from the doorbell camera on Nancy’s front door.

Jones added, “I will say, even if we’re not talking about it every minute, we’re thinking about it every minute.”

“It’s to the point where I know a lot of our colleagues, if the phone rings, or if we get a text from someone,” she continued, explaining that everyone gasps whenever the phone rings. “You know, [we’re all] waiting for the latest information.”

Man Detained in Connection With Guthrie Case

Late Tuesday evening, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed that a man had been detained and questioned in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. He was later released, following a court-authorized search warrant on the home he shares with his mother-in-law and family.

“I don’t want to say that we’re back to square one by any means,” Sheinelle Jones explained on Wednesday.

“People are still hopeful now that at least we have these pictures where, if before you weren’t sure…I feel like if you have someone in your life, or someone you know, sometimes when you see a picture like that, you’re like ‘Oh, that’s so-and-so,'” she added. “That’s kind of what we’re hoping, is that we put these images out there and somebody will see something.”

Cohost Bush Hager chimed in, “I know that those prayers are lifting Savannah up. She and her family are continuing to pray and hope for a beautiful reunion and we will all continue to do that.”

“That’s the key word is hope,” Jones said. “We need it.”

Authorities continue to ask that anyone who may have information about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie contact the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
