Eight months after separating from her husband, “Today” co-host Dylan Dreyer has filed for divorce from Brian Fichera after 12 years of marriage. Dreyer filed the paperwork on March 10, 2026, Us Weekly first reported on March 17.
Dylan Dreyer & Brian Fichera Share 3 Young Sons
GettyDreyer, an NBC News meteorologist who co-hosts the “3rd Hour of Today” and often fills in for weatherman Al Roker on the morning show, announced her separation from Fichera on July 18 via social media.
“For many years I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows,” she wrote. “The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between.”
“I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”
Dreyer, who shares three sons with Fichera — nine-year-old Calvin (Cal), six-year-old Oliver (Ollie), and four-year-old Russell (Rusty) — continued, “We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends,” she continued. “Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another. Thank you as always for your support”
Dylan Dreyer Says She & Her Husband Accepted That Their Marriage Was ‘Broken’
GettyDreyer formally filing for divorce does not come as a huge surprise, given that she said in November that she and Fichera were “no longer husband and wife.”
In November, while Dreyer was a guest co-host on Jenna Bush Hager’s fourth-hour “Today with Jenna & Friends” show, she opened up about her separation, according to People, telling viewers sarcastically, “I appreciate everyone’s comments that have spoken up about my life and our decisions and what we have decided as a family, thank you for your opinions on that.”
On a more serious note, she continued, “Everybody has their reasons for what leads to a separation or divorce. That’s another story with a lot of wine and that’s a whole different thing, but either way we’ve gotten to this place. And there’s something freeing, I think, for Brian and I, where — whatever reasons, whatever broke in a marriage — you could either fix it if you can and ideally you would, and you try, and you try to fix things. Or you accept that it’s broken and you take this new step forward.”
Dreyer added, “We are no longer husband and wife, and all those things that were broken, I don’t hold them against you because we’ve accepted they’re broken,” she explained. “That’s why we’re separated. So now let’s move forward as friends.”
According to USA Today, Dreyer also said she was “genuinely happy” despite her separation, explaining, “I’m not mad at those other things that I was getting mad at before because just like a friend, you give them a little more grace when you’re not married to it. And I can be a better friend than a wife.”
