Tom Hardy’s 18-year-old son, Louis Thomas Hardy, is a pure reflection of his critically acclaimed father.
The “Lawless” actor welcomed Louis with his ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed in 2008. The former couple dated after having met on the set of the 2005 film “The Virgin Queen.” They remained in a relationship until 2009 before going their separate ways.
Tom Hardy & Son Louis’ Striking Resemblance
While the “Star Trek: Nemesis” star tends to keep his family out of the spotlight, he and Louis appeared together at the red carpet premiere for “Venom: The Last Dance” in 2024. Fans of the British heartthrob couldn’t help but notice how strikingly similar he and his son looked. At the time, Louis was 16 years old. Now 18 — he’s morphing into an even greater resemblance of his dad — especially when Tom was in his younger teen years back in the mid-‘90s.
In a previous interview with HELLO!, the 48-year-old opened up about being a father to Louis. “I take great pride in being a father and make sure I’m there for him and helping him as he makes his way in the world,” he said.
“Being a father has given me the kind of purpose that makes you think more carefully about how you live your life,” the “Black Hawk Down” actor added. “I made a lot of mistakes, and I put my mum and dad through a lot because they were so worried about me.”
Tom Hardy Opens Up About Fatherhood
Tom also shares two children with his wife, Charlotte Riley, whom he married in 2014 after meeting on the set of “Wuthering Heights” in 2009. He and Charlotte have not yet publically disclosed the names or genders of their two children.
In a previous cover story for Esquire, the actor, who grew up in East London, opened up about wanting to provide a safe and secure life for his three kids. “In trying to protect my children, I’ll probably give them their own dose of problems,” he quipped. “But I don’t want them to go through what I went through.”
He also compared parenthood to being in the military, saying that it’s just as difficult — if not more so. “There is no harder and more important job on the planet than parenting,” he told Esquire. “You’ve got the military, police, doctors, service personnel — massive respect, huge consequences — but parenting? It’s beyond a job, isn’t it?”
