Erin Krakow is a Hallmark veteran and plays Elizabeth Thornton in “When Calls the Heart,” making her the leading character in a cast that contains a number of Hallmark favorites. However, the next season of “When Calls the Heart” is quite a while away, so fans of the show might find themselves wondering what to watch in the meantime.
Luckily, finding movies that feature favorite Hallmark stars is a great place to start. Krakow likely has limited time to appear in movies when WCTH is filming, but she’s still appeared in a number of both Christmas and non-Christmas Hallmark films over the years.
Krakow’s Non-Christmas Hallmark Film Appearances
If it feels too early for Christmas, then these films are the ones to pick.
In “Blind Date Book Club” from 2024, Krakow plays a bookstore owner who finds love through reviewing a blind date with a book that happens to be the new novel from a famous author. Robert Buckley stars alongside her.
“The Wedding Cottage” from 2023 has Krakow ends up as part of a duo renovating a cottage to be wedding ready so that a couple that won a contest are able to use it for their dream wedding. Starring opposite Krakow is Brendan Penny.
“It Was Always You” from 2021 sees Krakow question her engagement and overall life decisions when her fiancé’s brother comes home. Here, Krakow stars with Tyler Hynes.
“A Summer Romance” from 2019 has Krakow as the daughter of a ranching family who refuses to sell to a developer. However, the developer doesn’t want to give up on the ranch and starts to win over Krakow in the process. Ryan Paevey takes the role of the main male character this time.
In “A Chance at Romance” from 2014, Krakow ends up falling for a man due to his son trying to find a new wife for his father. Unfortunately, the real man isn’t interested in starting a relationship with her. Ryan McPartlin takes the lead role opposite Krakow.
Krakow’s Christmas Hallmark Films
Of course, Christmas isn’t Christmas without Hallmark films, and Krakow has starred in a fair number of these feel-good holiday movies.
“Christmas Above the Clouds” from 2025 sees Krakow go through a retelling of “A Christmas Carol.” A CEO named Ella Neezer that ends up haunted by her past, present, and future. In the role of her lost love is Tyler Hynes.
“Santa Tell Me” from 2024 has Krakow as an interior designer who’s promised by Santa that she’ll meet the love of her life, a man named Nick. Then, she meets three Nicks and has to figure out which one is her destined love. Playing the Nicks are Daniel Lissing, Benjamin Ayres, and Christopher Russel.
“Sense, Sensibility, and Snowmen” from 2019 has Krakow as a party planner whose enthusiasm finds a difficult time getting through to her client, who’s a toy company CEO severely lacking in holiday spirit. Luke Macfarlane takes the starring role opposite Krakow.
“Finding Father Christmas,” “Engaging Father Christmas,” and “Marrying Father Christmas” make up a trilogy of movies that are best watched in order. What starts as a journey to find her family leads to Krakow not only getting the family she dreamed of having, but also finding the love of her life. Niall Matter joins her in this set of films as a leading character.
Finally, “A Cookie Cutter Christmas” from 2014 sees Krakow as an elementary school teacher who ends up in a bake-off against another teacher. The competition for a man’s heart turns into a reminder of what’s really important at Christmas time, and David Hayd-Jones is part of the journey along with Alan Thicke.
While this isn’t enough content to last until the next season of “When Calls the Heart,” it’s a good start and a fun way to kick off the merry season that’s quickly approaching.
