Meghan King, a former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, is maintaining a positive outlook as she navigates a challenging custody battle involving her three children with her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Nov. 24, the Bravo star shared a sweet birthday shoutout to her daughter Aspen, who just turned nine. The celebratory post comes just a week after Us Weekly was first to report that King lost temporary custody of her children to her ex.

Taking to Instagram Stories, King shared (via Page Six), “My favorite female to ever walk the planet. The brightest light, my greatest joy. A spectacular gift from God was born 9 years ago today. When I learned what love is. I love you Aspen King Edmonds. I love you to infinity. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”
The post comes just a day after King shared a cryptic photo of a sticker that read, “Big fan of human rights,” and tagged Kirkwood, Missouri. According to Bravo, King resides in Missouri, working as a real estate agent.
Her birthday shoutout and human rights post came just one week after news broke that she lost temporary custody of Aspen, and her twin boys, Hart and Hayes, to Edmonds. According to Page Six, Child Protective Services launched an investigation after King allegedly gave one of her sons unprescribed medication, prompting a school nurse to report the incident.
The outlet reported that the children were given to Edmonds, and King was granted supervised visits twice a week, while a permanent custody decision is expected in court on Dec. 9. Despite the challenges, King appears to be holding her head high as she navigates this difficult period.
King is Living in Missouri After Her RHOC Exit

After sharing her IVF journey, the couple welcomed Aspen on Thanksgiving Day in 2016. Two years later, they welcomed their twins, Hayes and Hart.
After five years of marriage, the couple made the difficult decision to split in 2019, after People reported Edmonds had an affair. Their divorce was finalized in May 2021.
After her RHOC exit, King started a new life in Missouri, even giving fans a glimpse of her new home in St. Louis in 2020. “There’s just so much to do. But I’m feeling really overwhelmed, really blessed, really happy. I work hard and I’m happy that I can provide a beautiful home for my children,” she told fans.
In a November 2023 Instagram post, King shared that she returned to school to get her real estate license.
“It’s been 17 years since I was in a classroom at Ole Miss swearing I’d never go back to school yet here I am studying for my Real Estate license in Missouri… yep I said it now that means I have to pass. 11.5 study hours clocked yesterday with my only break being to eat and put my kids to bed — this ish isn’t for the faint of heart!”
