Amaya Espinal, the 26-year-old winner of “Love Island USA” season 7, experienced the health scare over the weekend, per a TMZ report. The report says they learned from sources with direct knowledge that Amaya was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after experiencing severe abdominal pain, and they say the situation “escalated quickly.”
The New York native required emergency surgery earlier this week to address her symptoms, per the story, which says she is now “on the mend.” Sources say she is still hospitalized in Los Angeles, and continues to be monitored by doctors, but is in “stable condition.”
The exact cause of the severe abdominal pain has not been revealed.
Did Amaya and Bryan Break Up?
After things fell apart with Zak, Bryan Arenales struck up a connection with Amaya in the eleventh hour of the competition, which kept them both on the island and ultimately led them to victory as the winners of “Love Island USA” season 7. He broke the news to fans by writing on his Instagram Stories, “Amaya and I have decided to go our separate ways. Unfortunately, we were not on the same page, and that is OK. We both gained clarity that we are on different paths right now.”
Bryan also said he was “thankful” for the time he spent with Amaya, and wishes her the best going forward.
Amaya also posted a statement about the breakup, explaining she realized the two were on “very different journeys.” She asked fans to refrain from any negativity, and wished Bryan the best.
