Katie Bates is offering a candid update on her mental health after completing an intensive round of therapy.
The “Bringing Up Bates” alum revealed via Instagram Stories on March 2 that she had just finished a four-day therapy program, marking a significant step in her healing journey.
Katie Opened Up About Therapy
The update comes roughly one month after her husband, Travis Clark, publicly admitted to being unfaithful.
“Just wrapped up a four day therapy intensive,” Katie wrote. “At some point I may share more, but for now I’m just really thankful for the experience and what I’m walking away with. I spent the past few days in both individual and couples therapy.”
She continued with a heartfelt reflection on the emotional toll of the process: “It was hard. Emotional. Stretching in ways I didn’t fully expect. But it was also one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I’m leaving better than I came, and that alone feels like an answered prayer.”
The 25-year-old first shared that she was seeking therapy on Feb. 25, explaining to followers that she didn’t “really feel equipped to handle something like this” on her own.
Travis Released a Statement
Travis’ public confession, posted weeks earlier, detailed his infidelity and took full responsibility.
“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust,” he wrote. “There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone.”
He acknowledged that “words don’t begin to express the damage” he caused or the depth of hurt he brought into her life, saying he was “truly sorry.”
Travis apologized for the “pain, humiliation, and betrayal” his actions caused and admitted that an apology alone cannot fix what he broke.
He also said forgiveness is not something he can expect or demand.
He shared that he is “getting help and doing the work” to become “a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome,” and asked for “privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.”
Katie later confirmed that they are pursuing counseling both together and separately, and that she has legal support. Despite the challenges, she previously shared that it remains her “heart’s desire” to “preserve” their marriage.
Katie and Travis married in December 2021 and share two children, Hailey, 3, and Harvey, 1.
