“Married At First Sight” star Liam Cooper opened up about a very scary ordeal that occurred while he was vacationing in Thailand.
In an emotional Instagram story, Cooper revealed that he had a knife pulled on him while he and his fiancé, Samuel Levi, were walking down the street.
“You always hear the horror stories about things happening in Thailand, people going missing, being drugged, and worse, and you kind of brush them off, to be honest. You never think it’ll actually possibly happen,” he wrote. “Until it does.”
“Yesterday, we were followed by a man who got uncomfortably close to us, to the point he was almost touching us, and appeared to be holding either a large NEEDLE or a KNIFE. We’re not entirely sure what it was, but was certainly one of them, and we knew something wasn’t right immediately,” Cooper continued. “We crossed the road to avoid him multiple times… As you do, and stay clear, without trying to make it too obvious. But he kept following us…”
Cooper explained how things got to the point where he and his fiancé started running, finding the nearest hotel to get the security there involved. The man followed them right up to the entrance.
Liam Cooper Is Sharing His Story To Help Others
In his post, Cooper revealed his motivation for sharing this scary experience.
“Just a reminder to anyone traveling in these countries, alone or with another, always be aware of you surroundings and trust your instincts,” he wrote. “The moment something feels off, it probably is.”
“Stay alert,” he continued. “It can happen when you least expect it. Too many bad stories happening here lately. It was enough for us to stop what we were doing, and just want to be back at the hotel for a abit and stay.”

Mel Schilling, who starred on “Married at First Sight,” passed away recently after her cancer battle, and Cooper was one of many who shared a heartfelt tribute to the reality television personality.
“Rest easy, beautiful Mel🕊️✨,” he posted on Instagram. “I truly don’t have the words to describe your personality or the kind of person you were. You were kind, caring, and had the most beautiful soul. Your smile could light up the darkest day. My heart is truly broken reading this news.”
“Thank you for your support and for always taking the time to listen. You made such a difference in so many lives. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten 🤍,” he added.
