Fans of “Married at First Sight UK” have passionately defended a series 10 bride who they believe has been treated badly by the woman she’s been matched with.
Leah Tyrer, 35, a business owner from Liverpool who runs two successful companies — Voltaco, a business consulting service, and her headshot photography business — was shown marrying Leigh Harris, a 30-year-old NHS clinical coder from Romford on the Tuesday, September 23, episode of the show. However, their marriage didn’t get off to the start Tyrer would have dreamed of.
Harris appeared to be unattracted to stunning Tyrer, insisting she wasn’t masculine enough for her. She then offered only her cheek when the time to kiss each other came in the ceremony, before acting very coldly towards her new wife during the wedding photographs.
The moments have been posted on the official Instagram account of MAFS UK — and fans of the show have spoken out in their droves to support Tyrer, while questioning Harris.
Fans ‘Feel So Bad’ for Leah Tyrer
The first video is captioned “Leigh isn’t quite feeling the masculine energy off Leah #MAFSUK.” It shows the moment Tyrer and Harris — otherwise alliteratively known as Leah and Leigh — met for the first time at their wedding. They greeted each other warmly, fondly acknowledged the similarities in their names, and everything appeared to look promising between them. However, behind the scenes, their thoughts about each other were very different.
Tyrer said of Harris, “She’s definitely a bit of me. She’s pretty. Nice hair, nice teeth, nice eyes. So, yeah, tick, tick, tick.”
Conversely, Harris said of Tyrer, “She’s absolutely stunning. But… I’m not sure if she does have a masculine side. So, am I going to fancy her? And in this moment, I don’t feel like I do.” Harris then muttered an expletive to express her frustration.
The fan response to the clip is full of love for Tyrer, with one fan simply writing, “Loving Leah 💗.”
Another user felt for Tyrer and advised her to get out while she can, while pointing out the behavior of some of the brides on this year’s show. They wrote, “I feel so bad for Leah! Another one that needs to run!!! Some of these girls are so RUDE this year.”
Someone else felt the same about many of the brides, while also paying Tyrer a huge compliment, saying, “Imagine marrying the hottest girl on the show and still not being happy. Not being happy seems to be quite a theme with many of the brides this year. 🙄”
One commenter had a different theory, writing, “i think she’s scared of the competition because our Leah is stunning.”

The other video, captioned “Leigh shocks Leah during their photoshoot #MAFSUK,” showed what happened during the couple’s wedding photographs, when the photographer said, “Just bring your face really nice and close together.”
Harris responded by saying, “No, it’s a bit… it’s a bit much.”
The photographer then said, “I was going to ask you if you wanted to do a kiss as well,” prompting Tyrer to reply, “Well, probably not. I got the cheek today, so no.” Harris responded, “Yeah, sorry.”
Further encouragement from the photographer followed, as she asked, “Don’t fancy it? Even a little one on the cheek?”
Harris responded emphatically, saying, “No, it’s even weirder. That it’s… the push. You know? You’ve asked five times now.”
Behind the scenes, Tyrer said, “I got a little bit of a shock. Leigh has definitely got a fiery side. I was like: ‘All right, okay!'”
Support for Tyrer was, again, prominent in the comments, with former ‘Married at First Sight UK’ bride Ella Morgan tagging her and writing, “you are the most beautiful .. hair, face, dress, I am in love ❤️.”
Another user wrote, “Well that was awks* I feel bad for the taller Lady, how is she suppose to react to that 😬 gosh.”
One confused fan of the show said of Harris, “I’m baffled this year it’s called married at first sight they r acting like they are trafficked into the series lol.”
Someone else paid bisexual Tyrer a compliment and suggested she’d be better off with one of this year’s grooms, writing, “Run Leah run for the hills!!! Leigh Jesus Christ she’s hard work!! leah you’re beautiful and can’t find better maybe the fella with the tattoos if you’re Bi 😂😂😂 you look a good match.”
“Married at First Sight UK” continues on Wednesday, September 24, at 9 p.m. GMT on E4 — and viewers will get to see what happens when Leah Tyrer and Leigh Harris go on their honeymoon.
