Fans of ‘Married at First Sight UK‘ have rejoiced after a couple who got off to the rockiest of starts on series 10 made a breakthrough in the fifth episode.
Leah Tyrer and Leigh Harris were matched as one of two same-sex couple in the 2025 series — and it’s safe to say their wedding day didn’t end up going how either of them would have dreamed.
Harris, 30, wasn’t sure Tyrer, 35, possessed the kind of masculine energy she’s usually attracted to, resulting in several cold displays. For instance, Harris shunned kisses from Tyrer during the wedding ceremony and the wedding photographs. She then sent her new wife to sleep in a separate room on their wedding night.
It resulted in an outpouring of love and support for Tyrer, who fans believed deserved better.
A Cold Honeymoon in More Ways Than One
Following Harris and Tyrer’s wedding, the newlyweds travelled to a snowy ski resort in picturesque Switzerland for their honeymoon — and it wasn’t just the weather that Tyrer found to be cold there.
Harris continued to show a complete lack of interest in her bride. She refused to get excited about the high-octane activities available to them, and flat-out refused to participate in most of them.
In a video posted to the official ‘Married at First UK’ Instagram account, Tyrer can be seen getting excited as the couple travel 2900 meters up a mountain in a cable car, while Harris feels anxious and angry at the supposed lack of empathy being shown by Tyrer. It all resulted in Tyrer telling Harris she needs to be more open to the MAFS UK experience.
Thankfully, however, in the latest episode of the show, which aired on Thursday, September 25, the couple reached a potential turning point in their relationship.
During a meal they shared together, Harris opened up to Tyrer about her past, and admitted she can be distant and closed-off due to bad experiences in previous relationships. She then admitted that she’s angry with herself for her behavior towards Tyrer, and said she was attracted to her in many ways.
Tyrer appreciated Harris’ honesty and her maturity in responding to her instructions to open up more. Harris ended the interaction by saying, “See, I can be sweet,” and the couple shared a laugh.
It’s resulted in many fans responding positively to the apparent breakthrough.
Fans ‘Really Want’ Harris and Tyrer to Work Out
One ‘Married at First Sight UK’ fan showed empathy towards Harris, saying, “Some times people just take time ❤️ it’s only natural ❤️.”
Another supportive viewer wrote, “I really want these two to work out 🤞.”
Someone else who can see the potential for Harris and Tyrer to work out commented, “They actually make a very cute couple.”
A relieved user rejoiced in the breakthrough by simply writing, “Finallyy LOOL.”
‘Married at First Sight UK’ fans will now be rooting for further positive developments in Harris and Tyrer’s relationship. Hopefully there will be more on the next episode, which airs on Sunday, September 28, at 9 p.m. GMT on E4.
