On the Wednesday, October 8 episode of series 10 of ‘Married at First Sight UK,’ the final couple of this year’s experiment arrived — and the bride was rather taken by her new husband’s unusual hairstyle.
Crêpe stall owner April Holmes, 31, was matched with graphic designer Leo Stanley, also 31, and the latter’s mullet took center stage as they met for the first time at the altar.
After a brief introduction, one of the first things Holmes said to Stanley was, “Love the mullet. Love that,” prompting Holmes to respond with a grateful, “Thank you.”
The Final Piece of This Year’s MAFS UK Puzzle
Holmes, from Dorset, and Stanley, from West Sussex, were one of three new couples to enter the MAFS UK experiment this week, and the final couple this year. They followed Abigail and John, who were introduced to viewers on Monday night’s episode, and Leisha and Reiss, who followed on Tuesday.
While Abigail and John hit it off immediately, the future looks less certain for Leisha and Reiss. Fortunately, for newcomers Holmes and Stanley, their start to married life mirrored the former rather than the latter.
When Stanley turned to see Holmes for the first time, he said, “Oh wow,” which said everything about his first impressions of his then-wife-to-be.
After greeting each other and learning each other’s names, Stanley told the production team, “April is definitely my type. She’s got a beautiful smile, right up my alley.”
After the aforementioned talk about Stanley’s mullet, away from the ceremony, in an on-camera interview with the production team, Holmes reiterated, “I really like his mullet,” before saying, “And he’s tall as well. So, yeah, I definitely think he’s my type, and I definitely fancy him.”
It was a great start to married life that continued into the remainder of their wedding day. Following the ceremony, the pair bonded at the top table over topics like past toxic relationships.
Fans Think New ‘Married at First Sight UK’ Couple Could Be ‘Amazing’ Together
A video of Holmes and Stanley meeting at the altar was uploaded to the official ‘Married at First Sight UK’ Instagram page. It was captioned “Leo’s ticking boxes straight away #MAFSUK” — and fans were firmly behind the new couple in the comments.
One fan wrote, “Wow these could be amazing together 🤞.”
Another user commented, “Omg this is the best match yet!!!! Love them both. 👏👏👏”
Someone else gushed, “The best couple of this season. Amazing chemistry and connection. I’ll wage a bet these guys are together forever 🩷💙🙏🏽.”
Finally, another MAFS UK lover said, “omg the first impression of them together is so good! 🥰”
It remains to be seen if Holmes and Stanley’s relationship stands the test of time. This week on ‘Married at First Sight UK,’ viewers will see them on their honeymoon before they arrive back at the apartments to spend the rest of the experiment living together.
