Reality TV Star, 33, Bravely Reveals ‘Terrifying’ Diagnosis After 17 Seizures Left Him Temporarily Paralyzed

A contestant from “The Hunt: Prey Vs Predator” has shared a frightening health update just weeks after appearing on the Channel 4 series.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail, the reality TV star Nathan Wedge, 33, revealed he was rushed to the hospital after suffering 17 seizures in a short period, leaving him temporarily unable to speak and partially paralyzed.

The devastating episode occurred soon after filming wrapped on the reality competition.

Seizure Episode Leaves Him Unable to Speak & Paralyzed

Nathan recalled the moment his condition suddenly worsened during what had begun as a joyful family celebration.

Nathan told The Daily Mail: “We’d gone to the spa for my wife’s 40th birthday, just having a really relaxing day, and then we went up to the hotel room, I had 17 seizures within an hour, and was blue lighted into Blackpool Victoria, at which point I couldn’t speak, couldn’t say a word, and I was paralysed from the hip down on the left hand side.”

He said the ordeal changed everything, marking the start of a long and difficult recovery.

Diagnosis and Recovery After Months in Hospital

Nathan has been diagnosed with functional neurological disorder, a condition that affects how the brain sends and receives signals throughout the body.

The 33-year-old, who has been diagnosed with FND, was part of the original cast of the first series of the high-stakes “cat and mouse” competition, which featured a £100,000 prize.

He revealed that the symptoms first appeared years earlier but were initially manageable.

He told The Daily Mail, “At the time, I was just getting left-hand side weakness, and I was having seizures, but I was still working, and day-to-day living normally, shall we say?”

After the severe episode, he spent three months in hospital and rehabilitation, where he had to relearn basic functions.

He now uses a walking aid at home and relies on a wheelchair when outside.

Star Says Show Did Not Contribute to His Condition

Despite the timing of the incident, Nathan made it clear that his health crisis was not linked to his time on the show.

“That happened on June 4 2025, so literally a week or two after filming The Hunt. Which is just crazy,” he told The Daily Mail in an interview.

He also shared his appreciation for the production team, praising their care and support during filming.

“I must say, every single member of the production crew and everything, they really looked after me, and they couldn’t have done enough.”

Determined to Keep Living Life Despite Challenges

Nathan said he chose to take part in the show to challenge himself and prove that his condition would not define what he could do.

“So, I think it was just for me to prove that I could still do it, which we fast forward to where we are now, and that’s not the case.”

Now adjusting to a new reality, his journey reflects both the seriousness of his condition and a quiet resilience, as he continues to move forward one step at a time despite the life-changing challenges he faces.
