Reality TV Icon Paddy Doherty is turning to fans for support as his family faces a worrying moment. The “Celebrity Big Brother” winner, 67, shared an emotional video on TikTok, revealing that his wife, Roseanne, has been hospitalized with pneumonia.
Speaking from inside the hospital, Doherty walked through the corridors as he updated followers on her condition, explaining that she was receiving treatment.
Star Praises Hospital Staff While Sharing Wife’s Condition
“They’re putting drips on her,” he said, offering a brief update on her treatment, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Even as he spoke about the situation, Doherty expressed relief that she was receiving care.
“But thank god, because she couldn’t be in a better place than a hospital. She’s getting attention, she’s getting looked after”.
After stepping outside the ward, he took a moment to thank the staff, calling the hospital “the greatest place in the world.”
The clip then showed him greeting supporters in the parking area before he signed off with a heartfelt message.
“Be lucky, be safe, and god bless you all.”
He captioned the post, “Prayers for my wife,” prompting an immediate wave of support from fans.
One follower wrote, “I have it Paddy very hard to shake but god bless your beautiful wife”, while another added, “Prayers for your Wife Paddy. Get well soon Roseanne”.
Paddy Doherty’s Past Health Battles and Personal Struggles

In March 2019, he underwent a five-and-a-half-hour operation for prostate cancer after experiencing severe pain and other symptoms, as reported by Manchester Evening News. He later spoke candidly about the impact the illness had on his mental health.
Mirror reported in 2022 that he was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack following complications linked to COVID. At the time, he shared an update with fans from his hospital bed.
As per The Daily Mail, he said: “My heart, I think… I had a heart attack last night. My breathing keeps being difficult. It’s like a horse sitting on your chest.”
He later opened up about the emotional pressure he had been facing.
“You know what it is? It’s just all the stress with my brother Martin [McDonagh], and my mother with the dementia. Maybe I couldn’t handle it. And then I went on the beer, I went to drink. It’s no good. I was trapped in my own world. I couldn’t deal with me and I couldn’t deal with my mother in a home. I used to drink just to get drunk. Really my nerves are [expletive] up.”
From Reality TV Fame to Family Life
Doherty first gained national recognition through the Channel 4 documentary “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding,” which offered a glimpse into life within the traveller community.
He went on to win the eighth series of “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2011, beating Kerry Katona in the final. That season also featured housemates including Jedward and Amy Childs.
He later reunited with fellow contestant Sally Bercow for the Channel 5 documentary “When Paddy Met Sally,” where the pair spent time living in each other’s homes.
Off-screen, Doherty has often spoken about the value of family in his life.
