Doctors Removed Joe Amabile’s Entire Brain Tumor

Pitt followed with an emotional update confirming that surgeons had successfully removed the full growth. “The best update: they were able to remove the entire tumor,” she wrote. “Joe is recovering really well. We’re feeling so grateful.”

Joe Amabile Discovered the Tumor After a Preventive Scan
Amabile first revealed his health scare on July 13. A preventive Prenuvo scan led doctors to order a brain MRI, which detected a lesion roughly the size of a blueberry.
“I didn’t share my Prenuvo [full body scan] results because they ended up finding a lesion in my brain,” Amabile explained in an Instagram video.
He said doctors believed the lesion appeared to be an early-stage glioma, but surgery was necessary to remove and test it.
“There was a blueberry-sized lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor,” he said.
The unexpected discovery left Amabile shaken. He acknowledged that serious medical news had always felt like something that happened to other people until he suddenly found himself facing brain surgery.
Joe Amabile Explained Why He Chose Surgery
During a July episode of the couple’s ‘Not Married to This’ podcast, Amabile explained that continued monitoring would not provide the answers he needed.
“It was, we’ll never know what this is by just monitoring it. We will only know by taking it out or biopsying it,” he said.
Amabile understood the gravity of the operation but said the tumor’s location made removal a viable option.
“I mean, the surgery is very dangerous. [A] craniotomy … is scary. It’s a serious surgery,” he said.
Amabile and Pitt met during Season 7 of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ and became engaged during the finale.
They married at a New York City courthouse in October 2022 before holding a larger ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina, the following year.
The couple has not disclosed additional details about Amabile’s pathology results or how long his recovery could take. For now, he is home with Pitt and focused on healing.
