Jennifer Harmon, a Broadway and soap opera actress, has passed away at the age of 82 on Saturday, May 9 in New York City, Deadline reports.
On Broadway, Harmon served as an understudy for some of the most famous actresses, including Stockard Channing, Judi Dench, and Jessica Lange. She was cast in 21 productions throughout her career, making her debut in 1965’s “You Can’t Take It With You.” She also appeared in “The School for Scandal,” “Blithe Spirit” (1987), “The Sisters Rosensweig” (1993), “The Little Foxes” (1997), “The Deep Blue Sea” (1998), “Amy’s View” (1999), “The Glass Menagerie” (2005), and Edward Albee’s “Seascape” (2005).
Along with her work on stage, she also appeared as a regular on the ABC soap “One Life to Live” from 1976 to 1978, portraying the role of Cathy Craig Lord. This earned her an Emmy nomination. Harmon returned to the show in the early 1990s to play an attorney.
She was also a regular on the NBC soap “How To Survive A Marriage” from 1974-1975.
Other television appearances included “Barnaby Jones,” “Dallas,” “The White Shadow,” “St. Elsewhere,” “Law & Order,” “Oz,” “Rescue Me,” and “The Good Wife.”

Jennifer Harmon On ‘One Life to Live’
When Harmon joined the cast of “One Life to Live,” she was the fifth actress to portray Cather Craig Lord, following Catherine Burns, Amy Levitt, Jane Alice Brandon, and Dorrie Kavanaugh. Harmon was on the show from 1976 through 1978, receiving a Daytime Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her performance on the show in 1978. She made her return to the show in the early 1990s, portraying an attorney.
She got her start in soaps on the 1974-75 NBC show “How to Survive a Marriage,” where she played Chris, who got divorced, remarried, and battled alcoholism. She was in that show during its entire 335 episode run.
