After participating in five seasons of “Survivor,” Rob “Boston Rob” Mariano not only knows everything about outwitting, outplaying and outlasting his rivals, but he’s become a true legend at it.
Luckily, he’s not afraid to share a trick or two with his friends. In a new video on Instagram, the Season 22 “Survivor” winner shared the best technique for cutting down trees with “Dancing With the Stars” judge Derek Hough, and fans are obsessed with the crossover.
Derek Hough Is Learning a Lot From Boston Rob
The video starts with Hough trying to chop down some leaves with a knife and failing. That’s when Boston Rob swoops in.
“Woah, woah, woah, what are you doing?” he said, in his signature thick Boston accent. He then takes the blade from Hough and demonstrates it carefully. “You got to hold it down right? One whack,” he said. “Right through it.”
The two then swap places once again and Hough successfully cuts through the leaves. “There you go,” Boston Rob said. “Be careful, that thing’s sharp, alright? You got it.”
As he leaves, Hough, smitten with the help, simply whispered, “Thanks Boston Rob.”
“You never know when @bostonrobmariano might pop out of the trees to teach me how to survive in the wilderness,” Hough wrote in the caption. “Maybe I’ll teach him how to cha-cha in return.”
Fans Are Now Begging for Boston Rob to Join ‘DWTS’
GettyWhile its safe to say that Boston Rob and Hough knew each other and were friends before the video, after all Boston Rob’s even been to the “DWTS” dancefloor to support his “Traitors” friend Dylan Efron, fans are freaking out in the comments over their friendship. “This is the crossover that’ll cure the world,” one fan wrote.
Most of all, fans are more excited than ever about the possibility of having Boston Rob join “Dancing With the Stars” for Season 35.
“Is this y’all telling us that Boston Rob is gonna be on Dancing with the Stars?!?!?”
“Please have Rob dance next season 👏”
“He needs to be on DWTS!!!”
Could their Instagram crossover be a teaser for “Dancing With the Stars”? Fans are certainly hoping so.
In the meantime, an all-new season of “Survivor,” named “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” will be premiering on CBS on Wednesday, February 25 at 8:00pm ET. Boston Rob won’t be in the cast, but some major “Survivor” all-stars have been confirmed.
Boston Rob rocks survivor!!!!! He’s definitely the gut we want to see hosting survivor from here on in. Sorry Jeff but give Boston Rob a real chance to host the show. The ratings would go through thr roof. So sorry Jeff but we all want Boston Rob from now on especially hosting the 50 show.
