Former “Bachelor” lead Colton Underwood recently told Us Weekly which reality show he’s avoiding, and his answer was surprising. Underwood, who made history as the first “Bachelor” to later come out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, said he has little interest in competing on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Underwood admitted he’d be “terrified” to go on the ABC competition show, although that’s actually the reason he’d be more interesting in showing off his dance skills. After all, Underwood said, “I love pushing myself outside of a comfort zone.” Unfortunately, there’s another reason Underwood can’t go on a dance-focused show. According to the former football player, “I have tight hips,” adding, “My mobility is not the best.”
Colton Underwood’s Journey in ‘Bachelor’ Nation
GettyUnderwood first came on the scene when he tried to win Becca Kufrin’s heart on “The Bachelorette” season 14. Underwood did not find love on the show, getting eliminated after his hometown date. Luckily, ABC gave him another chance at love, casting him on “Bachelor In Paradise” season 5.
Initially, Underwood developed a relationship with Tia Booth, but ultimately decided to end the relationship and leave Paradise early. His time on reality dating shows, however, was not over. Underwood became the titular “Bachelor” on season 23.
Although she quit before the final rose ceremony, Underwood decided he wanted to pursue a relationship with Cassie Randolph, leaving the show with her, sans engagement. The two were in a relationship from November 2018 to May 2020.
Colton Underwood’s Life Post-Reality TV
About a year after he and Randolph’s relationship, Underwood came out as gay on “Good Morning America,” later announcing he was in a relationship with Jordan C. Brown. Today, Brown and Underwood are married and have a baby together. According to Underwood’s Instagram, he’s now hyphenated his last name, making his full name Colton Brown-Underwood.
Underwood later worked with Netflix on a reality show called “Coming Out Colton,” which followed the “Bachelor” lead as entered a new chapter of life out of the closet. Netflix aired six episodes of the docuseries.
Underwood’s reality competition career didn’t end with “The Bachelor.” He later won a CBS show, “Beyond The Edge,” in which participants lived in the Panamanian jungle and competed for money for charity. Underwood won $226,500 for his own charity, the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation.
Later, Underwood came in 11th place on “The Masked Singer.” Next year, the reality TV winner will compete on The Traitors season 4.
