‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Winner Reveals How She Spent Her Prize Money

When Alexe Godin appeared on Season 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” she not only fell in love with Andrew Spencer. She and Andrew also walked away with $125,000 in prize money. Now, the “BiP’ star has opened up about what she did with her share of the cash.

If you recall, Alexe was open on the show about the fact that she had student loans and wanted to use any potential prize money to pay them off. Did that happen?

Well, Alexe shared a video on Instagram along with a caption that read: “The truth about my student loans lol 👹 little life update – so so grateful 🩷.”

“Guess what? I finally paid off my student loans! Thank you so much to ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ obviously,” she said in the video.

Alexe Also Opened Up About Why She ‘Had So Much Debt’

Alexe may have paid off her student loans, but she once had quite a bit of debt. That’s apparently something her fans and followers have been wondering about and something that she addressed in her Instagram video.

“A lot of people have been asking why I had so much debt,” she said. “I basically had to pay for all my schooling and my entire cost of living since I was 18 years old. Yes, I accumulated a lot of debt with that. I am not trying to say a starving artist story, this is actually legit, it really happened.”

Moving to Los Angeles, she didn’t have enough money to support herself. She recalled, “My credit cards were maxed out and I probably had like $50 in my bank account.”

Alexe Wants Others to Know ‘It Gets Better’

Although Alexe certainly had financial issues, her circumstances have now changed, and she wants others to know that’s possible for them as well.

“You never know what life has in store for you,” she said in the video. “I am aware my situation is a little bit different. I got really lucky because I did win a big chunk of money. I never expected that two years later I would be on ‘The Bachelor,’ find love on ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ and that they would miraculously change the rules as if they had a lot of student loans, and that I would win.”

“Be open to what life has in store for you,” she added.

She also spoke directly to those who are struggling, saying “it gets better.”
