Longtime fans of “The Bachelor” franchise will surely remember Trista Sutter‘s season of “The Bachelorette,” which happened to be the first season of the show, back in 2003. Viewers who watched until the end saw Trista become engaged to Ryan Sutter.
The pair eventually got married, had two children and seemingly have been living happily-ever-after. That’s surely why fans continue to be curious about their relationship and why Trista has just answered the “biggest question” she and her husband get asked about their marriage.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, October 16, Trista shared a number of pictures featuring herself and her husband throughout the years. She added text on top of the photos to offer her followers her answer.
“The answer to the biggest question we get asked: What is the secret to a successful marriage?” she wrote on the first image which showed the pair sharing a kiss.
“Shared Values! (If he hadn’t wanted to be a dad, that would’ve been a dealbreaker!),” she added on the next photo. She then continued with: “There’s got to be chemistry. (How could I not be attracted to this hottie?! 🔥)”
“Choose your battles! (Prioritize what and when you need to put on blinders),” she also wrote, along with: “Support each other’s career aspirations (especially if it enhances their quality of life!)” and “Remember the vows you took and commit to honoring those vows (and celebrate them wherever you are in the world!).”
Trista Has Shared a Similar Sentiment Before
GettyWhile the is the first time that Trista has gone into detail when it comes to what makes her marriage work, she has opened up before about what it take to keep her relationship healthy.
“There really isn’t a secret,” Trista told to E! News in January. “It’s what you hear all the time. It’s all the advice anyone in a relationship has ever given. It’s communication, it’s trust, it’s respect. Common values. It’s compatibility. All of the things.”
“It’s all cliche,” she noted. “It really is truly all the things that you hear about.”
Trista Is Touched People Still Care About Her Marriage

“We’ve been married for 21 years,” Trista pointed out while talking to Us Weekly in January. “The show was on a really long time ago, and the fact that people still care was very humbling to me and very sweet, even though it was very chaotic.”
