Hunting Celebrities Not Demons
We kick things off with the judges performing “Golden” from “K-Pop Demon Hunters” on Netflix. It’s a fun start to the show, so bring on the new season.
We are going to five head-to-head matchups tonight, with a double unmasking. We have a top-secret vault for the case files. Time to get things started.
Galaxy Girl
For Galaxy Girl, it says her advantage is space: the new celeb hot spot, and her disadvantage is that she is astrology-obsessed. For Handyman, it says his advantage is great to have on speed dial, and his disadvantage is that he charges $250 per visit.
Galaxy Girl will kick things off. She said that she was on top of the world from a young age. Accepted into schools on scholarships. She was the youngest on stage. All before she could even drive. She then took herself out of the mix. Galaxy Girl left the spotlight, but now feels driven back and has always wanted to be on “The Masked Singer.” Some symbols in the clues we saw a glowing heart, a “Welcome 2 LA” sign, and a calendar with Friday the 13th on it.
For her performance, she performs “Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl” by Chappell Roan. She definitely has a strong stage presence and is working it up there.
Panel Feedback: Rita said she had so much energy, and this isn’t her first rodeo. She thinks she is an international star. She thinks she could be Lindsay Lohan. Jenny said she took a break, but then came back. She saw Friday the 13th and thought scary movie, so she thought “I Know What You Did Last Summer.” The glowing heart is love, so she thinks it’s Jennifer Love Hewitt. Ken thinks it’s Emma Stone, with the LA sign being for “La La Land.”
Handyman
He is taking on Galaxy Girl. Handyman was on “The Handyman Show.” He talks about rolling with everyone from DeNiro to Courtney Cox. There was a Hot Cup of Tea, an old school car. He talked about his street cred has never been higher. He definitely has a raspy voice. Handyman said his daughter made him do this, so that’s why he’s here.
For his performance, he sings “Shake Your Groove Thing” by Peaches & Herb. Handyman isn’t moving much up on that stage. Mind you, he does have a big costume, but not much movement from him.
Panel Feedback: Ken said Ace of Spades is a champagne. This could be Idris Elba, so the hot cup of tea is British. He does have a daughter, too. Rita said we are dealing with an icon. Robin said he doesn’t know what it has to do with the clues, but he thinks it’s Tone Loc based on the voice. Rita relates it to “Fast & Furious,” so she thinks it’s Vin Diesel.
Results – Galaxy Girl won this battle, so she is moving on. Handyman isn’t eliminated, but he is in jeopardy of going home tonight.
Pugcasso on ‘The Masked Singer’
Pugcasso is coming out next, with his advantage being a VIP at Art Basel, and his disadvantage is color blindness. He talks about how he was supposed to take over the family business. He said sometimes you have to color outside the lines, as he hangs up a baseball home plate painting. The door also said “All-Star” on it. We then see Big Ben.
For his performance, he sings “Ordinary” by Alex Warren. He has a strong stage presence and is looking very comfortable up there. Pugcasso has a very strong voice, and I am impressed. He said he is a private person, and this is something new.
Panel Feedback: Robin said there are so many baseball clues, but he hears the voice and it sounds like a singer. Ken said he hosted a benefit and thinks of Imagine Dragons. He thinks it could be Dan Reynolds, who is athletic. Rita thinks this guy is a good time, and thinks it’s Darren Criss. Robin said he thinks it could be Ryan Tedder from One Republic. They have the “Counting Stars” song, so related it to the All-Star sign and a song about home, so the home plate.
Queen Corgi
Queen Corgi comes out, as her advantage is royal connections, and her disadvantage is being confused with Meghan Barkle. She says college wasn’t for her. We see a “Live from New York” sign. It seems like she made a name for herself on social media. We see a Physics test with an F.
For her performance, she performs “Don’t Rain On My Parade” by Barbara Streisand. To be honest, the voice is much more mature than the clues video showed. She has a very strong singing voice and seems to have a Broadway-like voice. That last note seemed to last forever, so she nailed it. She said she is here to win. If she can breathe, then she can win. Queen Corgi said she is not new to the stage, but she is new to signing and performing live.
Panel Feedback: Rita said she took her to Broadway. She said her voice is giving Nikki Blonsky. Ken thinks it could be Maya Rudolph. They are all going from the “Live from New York” clue. Jenny said she thought of “Saturday Night Live” and she went to Aidy Bryant.
Results – The votes are in and Pugcasso won, which means Queen Corgi is up for elimination tonight.
Scarab
Scarab takes the stage. Jenny said she is very elegant, graceful, and is getting a diva on Broadway. For Scarab, they said she is the most decorated we have ever seen. She said she had dined with Brad Pitt, and even Prince knew her name. She said she’s been at this for a long time. The Scarab is about redefining yourself, so she is here to redefine herself again.
For her performance, she performs “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele. She definitely has a strong stage presence, also. A very good voice and is great up there. She said they keep saying her name, so she thought she would finally show up.
Panel Feedback: Ken said it’s Whoopi Goldberg. She is a legend. She was the voice of Hyena on “The Lion King.” Jenny said she had a dressing room next to Whoopi, and she doesn’t sound like that. The scales of justice made her think of a lawyer show, so she thinks it could be Viola Davis. Robin said she is a legend, so he thinks it could be Sheryl Lee Ralph.
The Croissants
They come out with balls and chains on their ankles. They were upper-class socialites, living at the top. Then it all came tumbling down. They said life is good, but then they got torn apart. They were hopeless, but now they are back and reunited. We see peaches in the clues. It’s all about France and Paris in the clues.
For their performance, they perform “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley. They were having fun up there, and the croissants kissed to end it. They said it’s great to be here and make everyone laugh and have a good time, and to do it together.
Panel Feedback: Robin said the clue package and cancelled, he thinks a TV show. He thinks it could be Snooki and The Situation, and they both have mugshots. Jenny said it looks like a reality show, and the peach made them think of the South. Jenny thinks it’s the Chrisleys. Rita seconds what Jenny says, but she thinks the reality show aspect and it could be Heidi & Spencer Pratt.
Results – The votes are in, and Scarab won this battle, so she is moving on. The Croissants could be unmasked tonight.
Snow Cone
She comes out and seems tiny, as Jenny said she seems like an influencer. We see her in a scandal support group. She said she is here to clear the air. She was modeling ski boots for a kids’ catalog, but then got a big break. Snow Cone was cast on one of the hottest TV shows. However, she got kicked to the curb and iced out. She said she’s not who you think she is, and tonight, she’s going to prove them wrong. We saw an America’s Sweetheart sash.
For her performance, she performs “When I Grow Up” by The Pussycat Dolls. She is working that stage, with a lot of energy. The voice definitely seems autotuned on this one. She is clapping hands with the audience. She was having fun up there. Snow Cone said she’s always been a fan of the show, so that’s why she is here.
Panel Feedback: Jenny said this could be many people in Hollywood. She said the “CO” on the boots, and OC is the opposite, so it could be Misha Barton. Rita said the America’s Sweetheart sash gave her reality TV vibes. “The Simple Life” is a show, so she got thinking about Nicole Ricci. Ken said Taylor Momsen from “Gossip Girl.” She was misunderstood, and she is having a comeback. She fronts a band.
Stingray
He comes out and is moving it, thrusting those hips. He said he is everywhere. Stingray says yes to it all. We see a “Kelp” sign. He talks about his mom hosting parties with Michael and Luther. He said he has so many friends who have done the show, so that’s why he is here.
For his performance, he performs “Stayin’ Alive” by The Bee Gees. Yeah, Stingray can sing. He has some dance moves, and he is up there working it out on that stage. He is having fun while singing some good notes.
Panel Feedback: Nick said he knows who it is; it’s definitely his friend. Jenny said she didn’t know if she should blush or scream at times. Ken said nepo baby, so he is thinking of Lenny Kravitz, whose mother was an actress. Jenny said this artist moved to Paris, and we saw a picture of Paris. She thinks this is Jaden Smith. Rita said the nepo baby route, so his dad was Master P, and thinks this is Lil Romeo.
Results – The winner of this head-to-head matchup is Stingray, so he is moving on. That means Snow Cone is up for elimination tonight on “The Masked Singer” season 14.
Googly Eyes
This is the tallest costume they’ve ever had on the show. We see Googly Eyes in an office. He said he is known for getting clients out of the red and into the black. We see bagels, and then a cake mix box. He mentions other comedians, like Chris Tucker.
For his performance, he performs “Turn Down For What” by DJ Snake and Lil Jon. This performance was definitely full of energy and all about getting that audience pumped and into it. I mean, you even got Ken up dancing it out. So much fun with this one, so why not see more of him this season? Googly Eyes
Panel Feedback: Ken said this was such a fun performance. Cake batter and poppyseed bagels, so he thinks Big Papi, David Ortiz. Robin said that would be very exciting. He was thinking monster hits, so Daddy Yankee. Rita said for those non-baseball girlies out there. She asked about the rules of baseball, but Googly Eyes said no. Rita said it could be someone that played a baseball player, like “Major League,” so she said Wesley Snipes.
Cat Witch
She definitely came out strong, as Rita said she is tiny, but mighty. Cat Witch said the best things are worth the wait. She said she’s not used to be anonymous, but thrilled to toy with you. We see makeup, a tiger statue. We then see a soda pop can. She talks about growing and stretching a lot. It definitely seems like an influencer-type person.
For her performance, she performs “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga. To be honest, this was an awesome performance. They definitely saved the best for last. She can sing, as well as dance. She is up there working that microphone and stage. This was full of energy and fun to watch.
Panel Feedback: Jenny said she is so sassy, and loves it. Rita said she can move like no other, so she has dance history. She thinks it’s Charli D’Amelio. Jenny thinks it could be Addison Rae, which Robin said he song was “Soda Pop,” which was a clue. Ken relates the soda pop to K-Pop Demon Hunters, so he thinks it’s Lisa from Blackpink.
Results: Cat Witch wins this battle, which means Googly Eyes is in jeopardy of going home tonight.
We then see five new costumes will be performing next week: Le Who Who?, High Voltage, Calla Lily, Owl, and Eggplant.
