Katharine was also candid about her experiences with miscarriage and stillbirth, later sharing that the loss had the “most devastating effect on me” and gave her greater compassion for others facing similar heartbreak.
Stepping Away From Royal Duties

The parents didn’t know, and the pupils didn’t know. No one ever noticed,” she explained in a 2005 BBC Radio 3 interview, as reported by The Times.

A Legacy of Music & Service
Katharine’s passion for music inspired her to launch the charity Future Talent in 2004. The organization helps children access instruments, tuition, and opportunities to nurture their musical gifts.
She also volunteered at the Passage Night Shelter, supported cancer hospitals, and worked with UNICEF, reflecting a lifelong commitment to service.
Though she lived much of her later life away from the spotlight, the Duchess of Kent is remembered for her devotion to music, education, and charitable causes that touched countless lives.
