Jill Duggar Dillard is opening up about a heartwrenching decision she made after losing their baby at four months.
While appearing on “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast,” Jill reflected on choosing to have a funeral for her daughter, Isla, who was stillborn in 2024.
Jill Reveals How Helpful It Was to Have a Funeral for Daughter Isla
Jill Duggar Dillard spoke with her sister Jinger Duggar and Jinger’s husband, Jeremy Vuolo, about her entire pregnancy journey.
That included the heartbreaking stillbirth of her daughter, Isla, and her family’s journey of grief afterwards.
Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard, also joined “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast” in support. The couple has three sons — Israel, Samuel, and Frederick (via E! News).
The “19 Kids and Counting” alum reflected on how planning a funeral for Isla helped the couple grieve.
“I think anybody at any stage of pregnancy, you can minimize it [and] you can say, ‘Oh, you’re only this many weeks [or] that many weeks,'” the former reality TV star explained on the podcast. “It doesn’t matter, like, whatever you feel is going to remember your baby and remember their life in a significant way.”
Jill first shared Isla’s stillbirth on Instagram in April 2024.
On the podcast, she also expressed how helpful it was to have a village that understood her unimaginable loss.
“I had seen my mom grieve. I had seen my sisters grieve losses. I had seen other people,” she admitted on “Jinger & Jeremy.” Jill added, “So, I was able to incorporate some of those experiences and thankfully have more knowledge and more resources at my fingertips because of that.”
Jill Grieves and Celebrates Her Daughter with Fans
On “The Jinger & Jeremy Podcast,” Jill Duggar Dillard revealed that the loss of her daughter really shook her to her core.
“Coming home without our baby… I was a trainwreck,” the former TLC star admitted on the podcast as her husband, Derick Dillard, held her hand. “This is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.”
However, something else that has helped the couple, especially Jill, was having tangible ways to remember their daughter.
For Jill, that included the funeral and also having a final resting place for Isla. Jill shared a photo on Instagram of Isla’s gravestone in February 2026.
“Anyone who has experienced loss knows that it’s often in the quiet moments when the waves come stronger, and we are reminded more of the hole left by a loss,” Duggar shared on Instagram. “I’m so grateful to have a place to go to remember our daughter.”
However, in the same post, she also reflected on the positives in her life, particularly her gratitude for her sons.
“The sun continues to shine, and I love trying out my kids’ cooking,” Jill added in the caption.
