Kate Gosselin has been out of the public eye for quite some time, but the former TLC star has recently made headlines after Page Six reported that she has been quietly dating her former longtime bodyguard, Steve Neild.
As fans can recall, Neild was Gosselin’s bodyguard when she and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, launched into fame with their own reality TV show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which documented their lives as parents to eight children. Now, Gosselin appears to be more open about sharing her life with her boyfriend, having him even make a cameo on TikTok.
Kate Gosselin’s New Boyfriend Makes His TikTok Debut
Former reality star Kate Gosselin is sharing more insight into her life with her new boyfriend. Although she has not mentioned him by name, Page Six reports that it is indeed her former bodyguard, Steve Neild.
As Kate was doing a TikTok Live on Sept. 26, a man’s hand holding a coffee mug comes into frame. Kate shares, “Ooo, latte. This is yummy, thank you.” As her comment section was getting filled with questions about her new man, she shared, “Hello to the new boyfriend! He waved.”
While reading fan comments, one proposed that Kate participate in a TikTok Live with her beau. “He’s not very fond. I won’t rule it out, but you know, he’s not overly crazy about all of this whole thing. We’ll see,” she said. Kate is then seen laughing when a comment reads, “So many want to see him.”
“This is a good Kate era, I agree. It’s very nice to be happy,” she added.
Neild first worked as Kate’s bodyguard in 2008 as she gained fame on reality TV, and is the same man who was at the center of alleged cheating accusations the following year, the same year Kate and Jon Gosselin decided to divorce.
Kate first revealed that she was dating someone “for a little over a year” during a TikTok Q&A on Sept. 22. While she did not reveal the name of her boyfriend, she shared, “it’s somebody I’ve known for a really long time.”

GettyOn Sept. 30, Gosselin posted a very alarming photo on TikTok of herself in a hospital bed with IVs in her arms, asking her fans to “pray” for her. Her comment section was filled with people expressing their worry over the reality star.
She later shared an update and a little more insight into her hospital visit, which included going into surgery. However, she did not specify what procedure was needed.
“Update: I had surgery this morning and five pain meds on board (top 3 most painful surgery). I am not in the position to go into the details now but only bc I can’t focus. I did well,” she said, adding, “Details coming soon CANNOT thank you enough for all your prayers! Love you guys!”
On Sept. 30, Kate revealed in yet another TikTok that she had a “life-altering injury” after her puppy, Meika, “ran into me full-speed ahead, and I ended up with a tibial plateau fracture.” She added that she had “plates and pins” put in her leg because of the accident.
