“90 Day Fiancé” alum Nikki Exotika is recovering after being hospitalized.
She is at home after undergoing a “very complicated” surgery that led to excessive bleeding and dangerously low blood pressure, friends and family say, according to In Touch Weekly.
Exotika was admitted to hospital following a breast-related procedure, during which doctors noted thin blood and post-operative bleeding complications.
A close friend identified only as “Mike” shared updates on Instagram, saying Exotika’s vital signs were being closely monitored and that she had refused a blood transfusion prior to surgery.
“The only explanation I received was that her blood was very thin which caused her excessive bleeding during surgery and blood pressure kept dropping to a concerning level to be kept overnight under analysis,” he wrote.
He added, “She admitted to me she took Advil a few days before for her headaches which contains NSAID, she’s very weak. She refused a blood transfusion. Her family and I are very worried. Right now we are just praying she will pull through.”
The surgery followed Exotika’s earlier disclosing of long-term issues with her breast implants, including a serious infection and scar tissue buildup that required a capsulectomy and other corrective steps.
Despite the severity of the situation, Mike confirmed that Exotika has been discharged and is resting at home. He said: “Her vitals stayed stable since they gave her the blood-pressure meds earlier.”
Exotika appeared on season 10 of the popular TV show with her then-fiancé Justin Shutencov.
Nikki Exotika’s Recovery & Forward Focus
Exotika emphasized in social-media posts that the health scare has prompted a new perspective.
“I’m very weak and in a lot of pain,” she wrote after her scary experience, and she thanked fans for their well-wishes.
“I’m still draining a lot of blood after my breast reconstruction surgery,” she said.
Despite the scary moment, the reality TV star added, “All I will say is I’m lucky to be alive right now!”
On Monday, October 20, she took to her Instagram Stories with a message to fans as she danced in a car.
“Finally feeling like myself again,” she wrote over the video.
She Previously Spoke About Her Need for the Surgery
In an Instagram post from August, the TLC star bravely opened up about her ongoing issues with her breast implants.
She told fans in 2019 that she was hospitalized due to a breast infection and detailed the struggles she had endured since then.
“I went through a series of reconstructive surgeries 2020-2021 , to rebuild my breasts! I’m not gonna get into details of what I endured. It will be in my book and you can read about it. All I will say is I’m lucky to be alive right now!” she wrote in the caption.
She added how she was going to go through another surgery soon.
“I am prepping for another surgery, which should’ve been done a few years ago, but I had a lot going on in my life, and now it’s time to take care of it I need to gain 15 pounds, because they need to do fat grafting, a capsulectomy, and exchange of implants,” Exotika wrote.
