Jennifer Runyon, known for her roles in classic 1980s film and television including “Ghostbusters” and “Charles in Charge,” has died. She was 65.
Runyon’s family confirmed the news in a message shared on Facebook, revealing that the actress passed away Friday night after a long health battle, according to TMZ.
Her Family Released the Sad News
“This past Friday night our beloved Jennifer passed away,” the statement read. “It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family.”
They continued by remembering the late actress for her warmth and devotion to those closest to her.
“She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends,” the message added, before concluding, “Rest in peace our Jenn.”
A cause of death was not disclosed, though the family’s statement suggested she had been facing ongoing health challenges.
”Bewitched” actress Erin Murphy took to social media and expressed her sadness for losing her friend and revealed that Runyon was battling cancer prior to her passing.
Runyon Had An Impressive Career
Runyon became a familiar face to audiences during the 1980s, appearing in the blockbuster comedy “Ghostbusters.”
In the film, she played a student involved in the memorable psychokinesis experiment scene conducted by the parapsychology researchers.
