Scott Baio is paying tribute to his longtime co-star Jennifer Runyon following the heartbreaking news of her death. The actor, who worked alongside Runyon on the sitcom “Charles in Charge,” shared heartfelt words as he reflected on their time together and the impression she left on those around her.
The heartfelt message was posted jointly by their former co-star, Josie Davis, as they reflected on their time working with the actress.

“I had the extreme pleasure of working with Jennifer Runyon on ‘Charles In Charge,’” Baio, 65, told his followers. “She was a sweet, kind, and generous actress to work with.
“Jennifer played my longtime girlfriend on ‘Charles In Charge,’ however, she was also a wonderful mother [to son Wyatt and daughter Bayley] and wife [to Todd Corman],” he continued.
Runyon portrayed Gwendolyn Pierce on the beloved sitcom during its run from 1984 to 1990, while Baio played the show’s central character.
Baio Reflects on the Final Time He Saw Runyon
GettyBaio also shared memories from the last time he saw Runyon in person. “We last saw each other at The Hollywood Christmas Parade in late 2019,” he continued.
He ended the tribute by offering heartfelt sympathy to Runyon’s family during their time of loss.
He shared his “deepest condolences, prayers and sympathy to [Runyon’s] family during this difficult time.”
Baio concluded, “God bless her and her family. 🙏”
His post also included photos from the 2019 Hollywood Christmas Parade. In one image, Baio is seen smiling on the red carpet, wearing a jacket that references “Charles in Charge.”

“This past Friday night, our beloved Jennifer passed away. It was a long and arduous journey that ended with her surrounded by her family,” the family wrote, as published by TMZ.
“She will always be remembered for her love of life and her devotion to her family and friends. I know from above she’s looking down on all of us with her beautiful smile. Rest in peace, our Jenn.”

While the official cause of death has not been publicly confirmed, actress Erin Murphy offered a glimpse into Runyon’s recent health struggles.
Murphy, best known for her role on “Bewitched,” shared a heartfelt tribute on social media remembering her friend.
“So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer,” Murphy wrote.
She also reflected on the connection she felt with Runyon from the start. “Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet.”
Runyon built a steady career in film and television throughout the 1980s and beyond. Along with her role on “Charles in Charge,” she appeared in the blockbuster film “Ghostbusters.” She also played Cindy Brady in the 1988 television movie “A Very Brady Christmas.”
