“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby experienced every parent’s worst nightmare when her son, Robert Cosby Jr., passed away on February 23. Since then, the RHOSLC star has issued a statement, but more recently, she posted a rare family photo with him from when he was young.
Cosby took to Instagram on the morning of February 28 to share a throwback photo of herself and Cosby Jr. She said in the caption, “Godfirst #love #forever I’m going to miss you, bubs.
Mary Cosby Has Issued a Statement Following Robert Jr’s Passing
GettyTMZ broke the unfortunate news on February 25 that Cosby Jr. had passed away two days prior in Utah. He was 23 years old. Per the report, the cause of death is unclear. However, the local police responded to a possible overdose for a 23-year-old male on the night of his passing.
However, upon arrival, it turned into a death investigation. Fire and paramedics were also dispatched to the scene. Following this, Cosby issued a statement.
The heartbroken mother and RHOSLC star said, “Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.”
Now, following Cosby Jr.’s death, production on “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” has been delayed. Additionally, TMZ has reported that Cosby plans to continue with the show for the time being. Insiders told the outlet that she sees filming as a way to maintain structure amid this difficult time.
Condolences Have Poured In
The Bravo community has rallied around Cosby and her family following the death of Robert Jr. Bravo issued a statement, saying, “We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Mary’s beloved son, Robert Jr. Mary is a cherished member of our family, and our thoughts, love, and deepest condolences are with her and her loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.”
Andy Cohen expressed his sorrow, stating on his radio show, “Devastatingly sad news out of SLC. This is every parent’s worst nightmare. My heart is broken for Mary, and I am sending all my love to her and Robert Sr.”
More recently, some of her fellow Bravo stars left messages on the photo Cosby shared with her son. “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ” star Bozoma Saint John wrote, “It’s amazing that a certain photo can remain your favorite because of context… whatever you were saying or whatever you were doing when this photo was snapped is one that comes instantly rushing back when you see the photo. I pray that the good memories will keep you uplifted.”
Chanel Ayan said, “He looks just like you. You will see him in you so much. He will always be with you, love you, Mary, and God got you both.” Heather Dubrow wrote, “Sending you love and strength.”
Finally, Cynthia Bailey said, “I love this photo of the both of you. Sending continued love, prayers, and strength. Love you, Mary.”
